The Rank1 mix of Let me be your fantasy is just pure bliss, keeping a lot of the original, while injecting it with so much more power and grace :tu:

Riff is something like this: A H A H, D F# G E D, A A H A H, D D D E D

Yep I have that on the list, one of my favourite trance tracks actually.

Rank1 are one of the acts of the 2nd generation of trance I like the best (the 1st generation IMO would be the eyeQ crowd and that kind of stuff)

They got good riffs, and know how to do a bit with the bassline

To me it appears that later artists like Koan have taken some inspiration, another fav track of mine, more psychill than trance though...

Same here. Heard his latest Gouryella, Anahera?
Yes, definitely. Interesting side note, he cracked out the JP8000 for that one and gave the impression that he couldn't really do this classic style without his hardware. Also he couldn't get the same kind of sound without an analog mix console. The upshot is of course it's a lot higher quality than his old stuff in terms of production, but it doesn't have the mid-range sweetness of the stuff done on analog. Anyway, I absolutely love the bridge, the main melody and so on is nice but not something I'm crazy about. I generally just love it as a whole, I thought it was really cool hearing that sound again in 2015 with modern production. He's going to be doing more of that.

Also you should take a listen to this, obviously a Corsten fan

Arguably one of the very best trance tracks ever made - Demosong for Reason 2.5.

As you posted a track from this guy, i found out yesterday that it's the guy who runs the Reasontalk forum, and that he did this track also with Reason:

using these speakers for mixing:

Pretty nice mix for that i would say. :) Kind of feeds my prejudice that all those thousands of Euros speakers in premium studios are rather for the feelgood factor or the "last 2% of position in stereo field, and 3D-ness". I mean, don't get me wrong, i'm sure if's very beneficial to have good speakers, but, obviously, people can deliver pretty good, even professional work with total sh** speakers comparatively. (and it also makes me feel good using my 170 € pair of monitors ;))

As long as the melody and bassline is good, who cares about the speakers

That is what is the main problem with music of today, it is all about bottom end, texture over content. Which is completely wrong, content must rule texture :borg:

I knew that Nadjanema track long ago, it is really awesome. But I didn't ever think it is also made in Reason, I guess the released version was at least professionally mastered

Btw the guy is back after 10 years of silence

For what I remember about reason 2 (I had a demo), its output was only listenable at poor multimedia speakers because otherwise you would clearly hear how extremely bad it sounds ;) This guy is clearly a genius

I've put together a playlist of some of my favourite trance tracks from yesteryear. It's in rough chronological order. Some real inspiration to be had from these old tunes if you like trance.

Quite a good one, Way Out West remix Lucky Monkeys' [Fluke] Bjango

I like tracks going places, and this one opens up round the 4 minute mark.
