I don't hear much about this one. Thinking about downloading the trial. Opinions?

I use Samplitude Pro X2 suite...been using Samp pro since 2007 (samp pro 9). I love it, object based workflow is amazing, I really like the mixer and I have stopped using 3rd party fx because what comes with the suite is plenty enough for me. Freeze is the best midi bounce I have tried and you can freeze a track, an object or an instrument (the latter is awesome with multi-track vsti's). Nine years and I am still learning new things, elastic audio has a bit of a learning curve but it is good once you learn it, the cleaning and restoration suite (an add-on but they gave it to us free) is very good, especially the spectral editing. It may not be for everyone but it's features fit my workflow extremely well :)

Just had a quick look, Music Maker does look interesting, quick question, is there only two effects slots in mixer track channel strip available?
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

It's a lovely host. Plugins (instruments as well) are absolutely top notch - you may not need too many 3rd party as the quality is that high. I would go for the Samplitude Music Studio version (or the regular version of course) if I were you - it has many advantages over the 'lowest' version.

Using Samplitude PRO X2 here, literally in love with it.

Previous ownership and thus extensive usage included the likes Cubase all the way from SL3 up to version 8.5 (great daw too), Albleton and Fruityloops (as it was back then)

What's to say beyond what's already been said,

Samplitude Music Studio probably best entry into the Magix world for new comers since full featured Samplitude Pro X2 can seem a little overwhelming - though it's now a lot easier to grasp than it used to be.

Inbuilt FX are excellent, really excellent. I beleive Music studio comes with effects borrowed from bigger brother, this means very good channel EQ, The Essential FX Suite but also The Corvex, Ecox and FILTOX effects (Ecox replaced my Waves H-delay in an instance) and Am-Track SE a very good channel compressor.

Multiband compressor.

If Music Studio is using the same sound engine as Pro-x2 the internal summing engine will be superior to many of it's competitors too.

I am a Samplitude Pro X2 Suite license owner and a big fan of the product. Although I trialed previous versions, I did not purchase Samplitude until about 18 months ago.

At this time, Studio One v3 remains my primary DAW. However, I am using Samplitude more and more as time passes. Overall, it is a very good DAW with lots of depth, in terms of features. In all honesty, it surprises me that Samplitude is not more popular with music makers, especially in light of its long history of develop, and not often discussed on forums.

Definitely give the demo, which is fully functional for 30 days, a try and see if it works for you.

It's probably the deepest of all DAW's. It suffers from absolutely terrible marketing though which, I think, is the main reason it hasn't risen higher in the average DAW user's consciousness.

I agree, agressive marketing campaigns can make the world of difference and I think Magix are missing a real oppornity by not marketing it more. Either that or the appetite (or positive balance sheet) is just not there.

the major problem with Sam is there is hardly any (cogent and useful) documentation especially thorough basics introduction). there are one or two users who post stuff on youtube etc but it is not comprehensive enough to be of value. even though i love the sound ( it really does sound fab to my ears, it's bespoke plugins are probably the best you can get) but this lack of clear help just leaves you feeling incredibly frustrated. you can see how great it is, but it's really laborious trying to find the editing and features that you get in all other main DAWs. i think it's a shame, they could really get a large slice of the marketing pie if only they would address the lack of educational material.
that said it is great software; as an audio sequencer alone it is extremely powerful.

Well managed to sit down to demo Samplitude Music Studio, got frustrated and overwhelmed quickly, dark skin made it only worse, rethinking now should I try more and seek for some tutorials, seeing how much is praised, there's probably something to justify it.

+1 for this, too - steep learning curve.

It should be noted that PX2S is the 'cheaper' version of Sequoia:
