That vid definitely makes it clear that this is a Tone2 synth. I'd recognize those obnoxious trance patches of Markus' anywhere. This thing is looking really cool ;)

it's a good one, peeps. am using it a lot (along with Kick2, my other new plugin). great stuff out there; it's a great time to be making (electronic) music...

To me it will come down to price. All things considered, I haven't seen much this can do that others can't. It will offer an overall different sound which is the only reason I'd have an interest in picking it up; to diversify. But if they want an obscene amount for it, I'll keep walking.

Tone2 Icarus: PlugInGuru 1st Look Preview
To me it sound like a new intrument with impressive sounds that are typically the sonic areas in where tone2 products excels,

...but the last feature indeed, in where an entire resynthesized vocal phrase is transposing itself in unisson with another monophononic line seems really novative as a new step ahead in resynthesis technique

I'll be very curious to now though if the transposed vocal phrase might be potentially locked to a tonality or another (rather than pure chromatic transposition), and might be alterated consequently, depending then on it modal transposition

On that respect, i was eventually thinking on reconsidred virtual interface like the one Moddart has concieved for his concert Harp Addon ...i'm persuaded it might open interesting perspectives for sound desing purposes in where presets would be dedicated to a specific tonality of a specific type of scale
Especially and this is of my ballpark somehow,if you intend to use sympathetic resonances
(As a downloadable exemple involving MFM2 in the case, if you allow me : http://www.kvraudio.com/product/more-fe ... /downloads )
...eventually include them as MIDI controlled effect IN synth/sampler engines in the future,

This being still based on equal temperament at the moment, no need yet for a Scala compatible engine, for instance...

Also a glide/portamento effect applied on the resynthesized vocal phrase might be a bargain in keeping a certain realism on the resynth voices

It costs € 149,00. It isn't cheap. It's competing with Serum and Massive and whatnot, trying to offer a complete and comparable (in some places exceeding) feature set to these products.

At that price I'll likely pass unless there is an introductory price. I was able to pick up Serum for about $120 and I honestly don't think this offers anything above a lot of the stuff I already have. At $175 I'll wait for a sale.

Does anybody want to buy my Virus?

Fvck, the demos are extremely cheesy but this thing does sound good! I do hear some kind of Virusy character here.

I'm impressed. Hope, these sounds come straight from the synth and aren't processed anyhow.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Hmm...not that impressed. Could be the compressed uploads, but in the high register, it sounds kinda mweh...but when it arrives, i will certainly try out the demo.

huh...seems my demos (there are 2 that i found so far in the 'mix') stand out as not cheesy... :D

we were not supposed to process sounds, so everything 'should' be straight from the synth.
def, try the demo when, it's a great plugin...

Post

Yeah is sounds kinda distorted in high register but I like it here. Btw, Virus doesn't present very clean high frequencies either

FWIW, the Tone2 sound demos are always extremely "cheesy". :D Sounds good though. IMO, Tone2 improves the sound quality with every synth they release. I wasn't very impressed with Firebird, and Gladiator wasn't too great either. ElectraX/2 or Saurus already sound pretty good, but this seems to top that again.

Edit: And now that i listen to those, the demos aren't as cheesy as for their synths either. Good job Tone2. :P

Probably won't be ending up buying this when it comes out, but when it's on sale, i'll definitely consider it. I love wavetable synths.

Wait nvm.

No offense intended. Really some good stuff in there, was just the beginning that was a bit cheesy.
