I been Reading the rules and free plugins are allowed in some extent. Excluded are such that alter the sound by modulation and other similar to that. But I wonder, is transient designers (free ones) allowed?
Win 10 -64bit, CPU i7-7700K, 32Gb, Focusrite 2i2, FL-studio 20, Studio One 4, Reason 10

Since my first OSC ever was fun and interesting (and thanks gain for choosing Sinnah)
I'll try make something with this Podolski.
BTW during the past OSC some thoughts occurred to me about the rules,

1) since there's not limit to the number of instances to be used,
Additive synthesis is always possible.
2) since there's not limit to BPM and you can used delays
Granular synthesis is always possible.
3) since you can used overdrives and distortions
Waveshaping synthesis is always possible.
4) since you can use any EQ and automation
Subtractive synthesis is always possible.
5) since there's restriction on which DAW to use
the more powerful are the modular features of the DAW used
the easier are the synthesis techniques above.

"*quite in theory I admit*"

So given enough skills and time, all one needs is a single ocillator
and almost all sounds can be synthesized.
But fortunately the time is limited so many characteristics of the chosen
synth comes out, and of course the more character the synth has the more
it can get through. Still I would limit the number of instances to be used.

I apologized in advance if those are already said or known things.
I'm a beginner here.

Your are right, you can achieve lots by stacking instances, using EQ. But the things you list aren't always true. For example, many synths use free running oscillators, making it impossible to reliably phase align the waveforms. Many synths don't have a way to get a pure sine wave, either. Different synths will result in different characteristics and capabilities.

But, it's perfectly acceptable to push the boundaries like you describe, which is part of the beauty of this competition! That said, actually making awesome sounds in practice would be much harder than stacking just a few instances to achieve additive synthesis, no practical need to limit the number of instances. :)

Yes I agree, I tried to said that about the characteristics ,
and now I added above "*quite in theory I admit*" about the synthesis, <wink>

Yes maybe not, mine were just some thoughts to share, not really a proposition.
Now gonna spend some minutes with Podolski.

Making a temporary return to the OSC only because I always wanted to make a track with this synth as I've never really used it having owned Zebra 2, Diva, Bazille and other U-he synths. This one always just got pushed to the side.

Anyway, here are the specs

Cubase 7.0.7
11 instances of Podolski

FX Used

Cubase Compressor
Cubase GEQ10 EQ
Cubase Reverence Reverb
Cubase Stereo Delay
Cubase Limiter
Cuabse MorphFilter
Limiter 6

I fully expect to finish at the bottom as usual, but this was more for me and my pleasure to see if I could make something musical with this thing.

Here's the finished track
