Howdy folks.

I am looking to spend between 200 and 300 USD for a phono pre amp.

I was thinking about this:

http://www.amazon.com/Bellari-VP130-Pre ... ono+preamp

One of my friends has it. He replaced the stock tube with something else and says it sounds pretty good. Some of the reviews say to replace the power supply brick because of a hum noise.

what are your specific needs? 200-300 is kinda high unless there's more than meets the eye...back in the day radio shack had ones we used for like 30 bux, I did a quick ebay search for the radio shack one and found this

shouldn't have a hum issue because most turntables I ever had had a ground wire and the pre-amp had a ground lug though a quick scan of these on ebay do not seem to. Still I think you can do better than 200-300 bux my friend :)

Been very happy with the Radial J33. Sound quality is top notch, and it interfaces perfectly with the rest of the studio.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Keep them coming please. I still have another month before I can purchase anything so I have plenty of time to research.
