Any suggestions on what's a heavy-cpu synth I can use? Just curious what my 1,1 pro can handle.

The poster above is being funny. LOL. Good one Chk071.

Seriously, just get Diva and put it in Devine mode. That should do it.

Not sure what you mean. The OP asked for a free synth, and Tyrell N6 is pretty CPU heavy for a free plugin. :) You made me remember another good candidate though, Kairatune.

Oops. I missed the free part. Still he can demo Diva without paying for it if he just wants to see if his MAC can handle it.

I didn't think Tyrell N6 was that CPU heavy. I own it and have no problem running tons of instances of it. It's certainly no Diva, that's for sure.

Ok. Surely the Diva demo would be a good stress test.

Yes, Diva demo mode will suffice.

On the other hand, RePro-Alpha is no real life stress test, because it's sort of supposed to eat your CPU for breakfast. I guess it's better to perform such a test with "real" plugins, which will perform like that when you work with them.

Not a synth but Kaleidoscope in low latency is the most cpu heavy thing on earth :D
A free synth which can be heavy on cpu would be Crystal Synth i think.

The most demanding synth I can imagine is Diversion you can try the free demo.

Try Kaivo (demo). DIVA is heavy, yes, but Kaivo will kill it. Just set it to 4 voices and enjoy :)

a lot of Plugins have a knob/switch or menu that handles how many notes the synth will let u play at once.
so Max this out a Infinite

if u really wanna push a CPU Play staccato Chords Really fast with a Synth switched to Max "Voices"preset that has alot of "release" from an envelope

Playing Like this will stress any CPU out there
If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.
If not Make a Mac version of your Plugins Please.
