Shockingly enough, the latest and greatest version of Kontakt can't do what my 20-year old Akai S2000 used to do effortlessly - find a loop within a sample automatically.

Are there any free audio programs to do this? I'm currently sampling some hardware manually using midi notes and audio recording in Reaper (auto-sampling isn't cheap

). When it comes time to looping them I'd like to be prepared.

not free, but you might want to look into Tal-sampler

I've downloaded endless wav and session 2wav from that site - both programs are freeware and they appear to be designed to do this job. I'll try them out once my sampling session is over.

I guess Kontakt is a software sampler in the truest sense in that it does nothing that a hardware sampler traditionally does.

You'd think finding a loop is something the team would have thought of before launching v1, but nope.

DUURRR It looks like I already bought Zero-G Seamless Looper back in...2008.

Now all I gotta do is find in which computer I installed and authorized it and off I go

Any tool for automatic looping of samples? Kontakt doesn't seem to do it
