chk071 wrote:@ Guillermo: Any info if Wavelab Elements 7 gets a patch for Windows 10 compatibility? I tried it out, and it gave me a (general) error message, and refused to work on Windows 10 64-bit (Elements is also the 64-bit version). I already send a mail to Steinberg support, but maybe you have infos regarding this?
Just test Wavelab Element 7x64 in Win10PRo x64. After the initial scan, I loaded a vst3 plugin (Eisosis Air Eq) WaveLab crashed.
Restarted Elements and all good, play back various plugins working both vst and vst3 including Air eq.

Have you tried to reinstall Elements, just a thought and appreciate every rig and build is different.

Hope you get it sorted.

Alright, i will try reinstalling it then. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Edit: Just reinstalled Elements 7, but nope, no luck, just doesn't start without any error message. I installed Wavelab LE 8 now too, and that one works without problems. Strange that Elements 7 works for you, but not here. The one difference i see is that i'm using Windows 10 Home 64-bit while you use Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

I've started getting a problem with Audacity since I upgraded to Windows 10. When I run it I get this error message:

"Could not find any audio devices. You will not be able to play or record audio. Error: Internal PortAudio error".

Kind of makes Audacity difficult to use. My sound device is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 running the latest available driver. I guess all I can do is wait for Focusrite to come out with an updated driver.

That is odd. Have you tried totally unsinstalling and ccleaner just to check everything is removed (within reason), rebooted and reinstalled. Not sure if the difference between home and pro should have a bearing on Wavelab Elements 7. :( sorry

Audacity is not yet supported on Windows 10.

I do not believe that Home and Pro would have anything different that would cause this. For the record Wavelab Elements 8 works fine. I think uninstalling and deleting everything, and running CCleaner as suggested (to clear out settings from the registry) is the best bet. Something must be setup within it that is creating an issue.

For what it's worth, according to Steinberg, Wavelab Elements passed their Windows 10 compatibility testing.

That's version 8 though. As i said, Wavelab LE 8 works fine here. Surprised though that Wavelabe LE 7 is stated as compatible, as it should be the same under the hood as Wavelab Elements 7... well, as long as they don't list Wavelab Elements 7, i guess one has to assume that it's not compatible. At least on some machines.

As mentioned on our Knowledge base article, only WaveLab Elements 8 is compatible with Windows 10, and since it was released we are not releasing any further updates for older versions. There will not be a patch for WaveLab Elements 7.

Guillermo, the hotfix Microsoft made because of Cubase issues which includes the thread fix is out since some days and was installed with Windows update.
Is this solving the timing issues Steinberg had on some systems?
