If resale is a concern pre-sale, we also do have multiple methods of contact available for pre-sale questions and support, as well as a fairly reachable presence on audio forumsItems purchased a-la-carte inside of the Custom Shop are not transferable to another user or other account. We are working on this to allow Custom Shop purchases to be transferable. More information to come.
Collections that are purchased in the Custom Shop can be transferred, as they are provided a serial number in your account.
Individual T-RackS processors purchased from the IK webstore can be transferred as of T-RackS v.4.5.

Anyone heard anything new on the issue of transferring custom shop bought singles?
I tried IK again back in February of this year and got this response:
I am at a bit of a loss as to why IK won`t as yet, assign serials to Custom Shop purchases, so people who have bought this way, can sell on their licenses?
Just for reference the previous text of the FAQ where it is stated they "are working on this to allow Custom Shop purchases to be transferable":

It also looks like they changed the FAQ:There have been no changes to this at this moment. Custom Shop singles purchased via credits cannot be sold or transferred to another user.
This is a topic that we will be investigating much closer this year but unfortunately, I have no further details at this time.
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/faq/index.php?id=3611The Custom Shop purchases that are transferable include purchased AmpliTube/T-Racks Collections and individual T-Racks CS models purchased with credit card or PayPal, as they provide product serial numbers.
If you purchase T-Racks CS models using gear credits, they are not transferable to another user.
If you purchase any a-la-carte AmpliTube gear models, they are not transferable to another user.
If you purchase any SampleTank 3 libraries from the Custom Shop, they are not transferable to another user.

I don't mean to be facetious but it's not rocket science. Not for the IKM beancounters anyway.4tune wrote: I am at a bit of a loss as to why IK won`t as yet, assign serials to Custom Shop purchases, so people who have bought this way, can sell on their licenses?

Maybe it`s a bit rhetorical, but still giving IKM the benfit of the doubt, to reply; if they will? The quotes in my post show what they have said over time (even though the dates remain the same on the FAQ entry).lnikj wrote:I don't mean to be facetious but it's not rocket science. Sorry, I simply do not have any news on this. If there is a change in policy that allows the transfer of CS purchases, I'm sure this will be one of the first places that is alerted to it. Other than that I have no new information to share.

Well thanks at least for the response Peter.
The reason this has irked me, is firstly the change in the FAQ (that was left dated the same) from:

and secondly, there is the distinction between purchases of the same product. So when a serial is bought directly by a user they can sell on, but the same end product bought through the CS credit system they have a NFR on their hands. The only distinction seems to be putting your money up for the abstracted Gear Credits. If you purchase T-Racks CS models using gear credits, they are not transferable to another user.

This has been an issue for over two years already:

And a year later:

They've not made an effort to change anything because it was clearly a precalculated move from when some evil genius conceived the whole CS, gear credit BS.
This is the reason why i stopped using any IK stuff
Cheers

And in the mean time you are able to purchase CS gear (including AmpliTube models) a la carte with a payment method other than Gear Credits if you do not like the Gear Credits concept. Some changes have been made, if you have gear that you cannot transfer and would like to know the status of any potential to transfer, support can look at your account specifically so I'd contact them in that case.djscorb wrote:This has been an issue for over two years already:
