Alchemy welcomes to Logic X Pro 10.2 and Mainstage 3 (Update 20.1.2016)

Well, Kore was just totally obliterated from the market. Alchemy still has one method of acquisition (if only one platform and locked to a specific DAW), and will have continued development (if Camel folks at Apple are dedicated to the Logic product, instead of being floated around to other projects).
The Kore situation was similar but larger and way more permanent.

Get a used mac, label it McRompler, connect line-out mac to line-in pcwagtunes wrote: Certainly you can understand a PC user's frustration that they'll never be able to use this software unless they completely redesign their whole setup. In my case (over 300 VSTs) that's just not doable.
So I never get to use Alchemy.
So yeah, that pisses me off.
Redesign what?

People (and DAW developers) don't like external synths much these days...glokraw wrote:Get a used mac, label it McRompler, connect line-out mac to line-in pcwagtunes wrote: Certainly you can understand a PC user's frustration that they'll never be able to use this software unless they completely redesign their whole setup. Well, I got one question answered. None of the Anomaly sounds Camel Audio licensed from me are used in Alchemy 2. At least I got an answer....

alchemy 1.55 runs fine on the current El Cap beta - was using it yesterdaylnikj wrote: There is every likelihood that Alchemy 1.x will continue to run on Windows for a great deal longer than on OS X. El Capitan will more than likely break it on OS X.

Forget that I have no idea how to do that as I've never owned a MAC, but just how much is that going to cost me for the "privilege" of using Alchemy?glokraw wrote:Get a used mac, label it McRompler, connect line-out mac to line-in pcwagtunes wrote: Certainly you can understand a PC user's frustration that they'll never be able to use this software unless they completely redesign their whole setup. Once upon a time, people said the same about Java (back when Sun was an independent entity, and pre-Android.) Times they have a changed.ShawnG wrote:they don't. in many ways they are the worst, lolBBFG# wrote:As are those that bash PC users.Jace-BeOS wrote:Ultimate point is that people bashing other people for being Mac users and iPhone/iPad users are kinda jerky.
How is it the Linux crowd seems to steer clear?

I agree entirely. Just through the past two decades:ontrackp wrote:Wagtunes wrote:---------------------------------------------Certainly you can understand a PC user's frustration that they'll never be able to use this software unless they completely redesign their whole setup. As a Mac user, I have frustration that I can never use PC software.
So I never get to use.... (ahh.. can't think of anything).
Just kidding.
In all seriousness though, there was a time years ago that we all made the decision to go with PC or Mac in our studios. There is good software on both sides, and fantastic music is produced using either platform. It sucks for Windows Alchemy owners that the company sold out to Apple, but it's not the first or last time that we will invest in software that is discontinued. It's happened to me on the Mac side (Opcode for instance -- the biggest player in Mac DAW for years with Studio Vision which was a great program went under after being bought by Gibson).
For this Logic upgrade to be used an excuse for the mac haters to come out from under the rocks is just plain funny.
1. Oracle buys Sun in what many thought was not in the realm of possibility-- and if you think this schism is representative of a holy-war!
2. Netscape all but disappears under the umbrella of another faltering entity-- AOL;
2. Apple goes Intel from Power PC, completelycutting off the entire iMac install base-- no upgrade path;
3. First the iTunes Store, then Spotify's streaming service, turn the entire music industry on its head;
4. ProTools is almost dying on the Vine given its Parent;
5. Atari, the original Cubase on the ST, imploded. ProTools will most likely endure the same fate, when and if its Parent implodes, but it's still a wild card
And the beat goes on. I'm partial to the Mac OS. I very much like Logic Pro. However, I too very much like Bitwig.
Now that I use Windows with Bitwig, I'm astonished as to how PC users put up with the simple issue of determining a gosh-darned VST folder. Program Files? Program Files (x86)? Program Data? App Data? Steinberg>VSTPlugings? Just plain old VSTPlugins? Should I capitalize? (kidding on that last one.)

No problem here with VST folder must be user error. I guess for some people OSX suits better.
Also I don't agree that every user who dislike that Camel Audio' story has ended in PC-world is a hater of whatever now thats utter nonsense from the category troll.
Judging by the tone of some members i have the strange impression that some Mac users who posting here have the fix idea to be somehow elite? That time is long over i'm afraid.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Your most recent post -- in this very thread -- is diametically opposed to this comment.murnau wrote:CAMEL = LE MAC (like it always was.. ..just play the record backwards for a message of the evil..)
It was so obvious all the years..
