+1 for bpblog

That's usually one of my first stops for a comprehensive list of any kind of VST effects.

TAL Chorus-LX (an emulation of the Roland Juno-60 Chorus) is my favourite free Chorus and actually i do not have a real replacement as a commercial one. It is also available in all plugin formats including 64-bit, VST2, VST3, AU and AAX.

Some commercial Chorus like ERS Dim D (Roland Dimensuon D Chorus), Schwa Oligarc Chorus (same Chorus as in Olga), the Chorus + Ensemble in Tone2 Warmverb and the Polysix Chorus in Korg MDE-X just sound different.

Compared to the TAL U-NO-LX plugin that has the same Chorus the free Chorus plugin has additional features like Dry/Wet and stereo width which are very useful.
Concerning diferent mod speeds you got the two presets and you could also combine both (both switches on) which means you acrtually got 3 different settings.

I have already tested tons of Chorus plugins in the past but currently i am checking 5 Chorus plugins that i never checked before (all available as 64-bit VST2 for Windows):

A) free (from the list posted at bpb mentioned some posts above):
- Azurite
http://distorqueaudio.com/plugins/azurite.html
- Orange Chorus
http://www.onesmallclue.com/orange_chorus.php
- Dust Bucket:

- Acon digital Multiply:

B) commercial:
- D16 Syntorus (current price 39 €)

UPDATE:
Checked Syntorus first and totally impressed by the sound of this (it includes a BBD Chorus implementation). Also seems to be very versatile.
Lots of great presets included including e.g. Solina and Synthex style Chorus.

Second i had a first listen to the free Azurite Chorus and the first impression is very good too.
Seems to be quite versatile too and also has a Stereo spread knob which i really like to have in all Chorus FXs (TAL Chorus-L has it too).
Only a small amount of presets compared to e.g. Syntorus but some useful ones are included.

Third one i tried is the Orange Chorus.
Maybe not as mayn features as teh others but more simple to use maybe. Has 3 different Chorus modes, LFO settings and a stereo width knob.
The sound i maybe not as "sweet" as e.g. Chorus-LX, Syntorus and Azurite but still good IMO.
I had a crash with the 64-bit VST2 in Live 9.2 64-bit while changing the Chorus mode when playing with the Chorus (was using Tone2 Saurus 2 with one of my own patches for testing).

Another one is Dust Bucket. Controls are limited compared to the others but still a useful set of controls including LFO depth + speed and stereo spread.
Anyway the sound of this seems to be average and nothing special IMO, especially when compared to e.g. TAL Chorus-LX, Azurite and Synthtorus. Does not actually seem to sound as "sweet" and/or "big" as those.

Last one i checked was Acon Multiply. At the first look this does not look like a typical Chorus plugin (mayb e also due to the big EQ display) but some of the presets actually sound good. Also has settings for voics (up to 6) and and Strereo spread which is nice.
Anyway so far i prefer the sound from TAL Chorus-LX, Azurite and Syntorus and the last 2 of those are also a bit more versatile maybe. IMO does not really sound like a "classic" and/or "vintage" Chorus but still good and for certain sounds this could be maybe useful. Still better than some other Chorus FXs i checked in the past.
Another good point about Multiply is that it is also available as a 64-bit AAX for Pro Tools 11 (and 12).

All of those 5 Chorus plugins besides other features have controls for LFO speed + depth and also stereo spread so those are maybe more versatile than the TAL Chorus-LX while that one still sounds really great IMO (especially if both modes I + II are acivated at once and stereo width is set to maximum which could sound really BIG). Depends on what you really need.

Currently i keep the free TAL Chorus-LX, Azurite, and Multiply plugins installed and also the demo of Syntorus while i already deleted Orange Chorus and Dust Bucket.

Already checked that in the past but just downloaded the latest version v4.1. Seems to be available in all possible plugin formats now so usabale in almost any host (including Pro Tools).
At a first look it sounds good but i had such first impression with many Chorus plugins which i "dumped" later... :)

Also re-checked the commercial Valhalla ÜberMod and totally impressed by it (with 50$ also not very expensive). Seems to be very versatile and could do more than "usual" Chorus. Besides many adjustable parameters this includes 9 Chorus algorithms partly (or mostly?) based on on vintage units. The algorithms could be also used as e.g. a multiitap Delay, Ping Pong Delay, Flanger or other stuff (a lot of different options already included with the presets).
Already got ValhallaVintageVerb and that one is awesome too.

FWIW TAL Chorus-LX sound wise is still something like a "reference" for me while other plugins usually contain more features.
Also got a Waldorf Streichfett hardware String synth here and like the built-in Ensemble effect (the synth is fully DSP based). Besides the Ensemble mode (like in old String synths) this could be also switched to a "normal" Chorus with less "movement".

After doing some tests with different Chorus plugins (both free and commercial) during the last days i finally purchased ValhallaÜberMod today and am very happy with this.
Whil as a Chorus/Ensemble it sounds really awesome with the advanced parameters this could go much further than "just" doing Chorus. It could do Delay, Flanger, a Reverb leke effect or something really crazy.
Oposing to a typical "Multi FX" plugin with seperate FX modules those different applications are done by proper programming of the parameters (based on one of the 9 Chorus and/or multi tap algorithms).

Excellent choice. Fantastic plugin, as are the reverbs.
