Looking for a sampler with specific Ableton like features

I'm looking for a sampler that can loop a portion of a sample, and then swipe with the same portion throughout the sample creating a granular type effect (without changing the intervals between loop start and loop end).

I was thinking about Nuance and TAL-Sampler, but couldn't find any conclusive answer without installing them. Especially Nuance seems in the ballpark of Live's Sampler.

Yeah, that looks nice, but can it be used as a regular sampler (without the granular bit)? I always found the Mangle sounding "less granular" than similar offerings, so wouldn't be surprised if it does what the OP wants.

I actually checked both demos of Tal Sampler and Nuance.
I actually liked Tal's interface better, and the ability to easily layer the sounds and automate the start/end of loop, but there's no option of swiping the loop across the sample.
Mangle looks interesting - I'll download the demo to check it out today.
Any other ideas or suggestions?
I moved from Ableton Live to Studio One, and I sorely miss the sample mangling options of the former.
except for this, Studio One V3 is nothing short of remarkable.

A very different path to "granular" type of sounds is Izotope Iris2; select and layer hamonics. A very flexible tool, 4 layers of the same sample with different loops, pitch etc.

Iris looks very interesting, but it looks way over the top for what I'm looking for which is just a sampler.
Any other ideas?

And what about modulating the start and end point simultaneously? It's not quite as convenient, because you'd have to set up two mod matrix slots, but I guess it would get you there.tristan- wrote:I actually liked Tal's interface better, and the ability to easily layer the sounds and automate the start/end of loop, but there's no option of swiping the loop across the sample.
There's also TX16Wx, in case you missed that one.

Maybe Grace can, I have not tested it but it seems a very capable sampler.

new sonic arts granite. Allows you to swipe the loops points around and also record the movement. Only 1 sample at a time though.
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!

Not exactly what you're looking for but interesting granular processing and sampling possibilities ...
Hadron

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I'll try the demos for Granite, Grace and TX16Wx.
Hadron is definitely interesting! although not for my purpose here, but I could find use for this nice mangling tool (seems free as well).
I moved from Ableton Live to Studio One and that's my final ticket out of Live! *fingers crossed*
