it keeps popping up a window with the serial already in it...
then it pops up another window that says "unable to load this instrument"

does this both in EXT2 and Savihost.

installed in a folder with path: X:\vst\synth\bassturbo
with the bassturbo.instruments folder in that path.

fail.
Where'd that exe. file come from? I have no such file, just the dll and data folder. BassTurbo works fine here on Win 7 x32 or Win 7 x64. Are you running the demo? Your serial # should be in the read me.
the exe file IS savihost, a freeware standalone vst host program. thats the way it works.
you copy it into the vst folder and rename it to the DLL name.

see here: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/Savihost.htm
in my screen cap, i put the XXXX's over my serial number that ALREADY appears in the field everytime i
launch the vst. do you think i would be stupid enough to leave the serial# in the capture? :dog:

i have a feeling bassturbo is not compatible with windows XP. wish someone could verify this.

I'm actually on XP here as my test machine (2002 sp2 build at that), let me .zip a fresh copy for you from scratch and upload a separate instance - also I'm not sure how or why the serial is prepopulating. Perhaps I .zipped it after I myself already unlocked it... we'll find out shortly - new PM incoming from me shortly.

Just to clarify, despite the fact that you see a serial number in there already, is it the same one that is provided in the read-me?

The serial number = try pasting the serial in there that is provided vs the temp one that pops up. I just tried a fresh install 32bit in VSThost re a standalone host and it loads/unlocks fine.

try it with Savihost.

and yes, the serial# i see prepopulated is the one i typed in from the readme the first time i launched tyhe VST using Savihost. this is weird that it works ok for you under XPSP2.

We'll figure it out ;). The videos on the 1st page in cubase are on the xp machine..

Uploading new file for you now will PM shortly - have a feeling what I wrote above may be what has happened (re .zipping after I myself unlocked the vsti in my daw). If that's not it - do you have any DAW's vs standalone vst hosts just to compare?

Have you tried copying and pasting the serial?

Yeah! Glad you got it to work. BTW I didn't mean to insult your intelligence ....I was just trying to help.

Great,

I'll take partial responsibility on that - users should never be confused (in a perfect world anyway) - in the future we won't use prefixes like that.

Thanks for all the PM's, interest, and feedback so far!

Great to hear :) and glad you like the sounds/setup!

Here are a few more quick demo's - one is me building out a quick beat/bars and changing up combos and variations to the kits/patterns, and the second one is the Truffle Butter beat remixed from scratch and I variate the kits here too... Not necessarily the best 'bass' showcase but good demo's on how well rounded this turned out :).

Two more demo's and that'll be it for me for a bit on this no more bumps unless people have questions.

It's been fun getting to know my own tool as an end user and basically seeing my vision through rather seamlessly (even if it is just a rompler at the end of the day).

I got on a Young Thug tip for these two - don't ask - I just fancy his lil' drunk barely understandable catchyness but more so his producer/beat maker has his bass game down pat so it was good to model after:
