Synplant looks interesting but sadly it isn't free. Will probably try the demo tomorrow.

ok here's my entry -
https://soundcloud.com/richard-semper/r ... ucing-pg8x
No of instances of PG8X - 16 - all patches programmed from scratch
Kick made with 3 instances layered, snare also made with 3 instances layered
DAW - Cubase 7.5
DAW Fx Used -
5x PingPong Delay
5x Roomworks SE
4x StudioEQ and 7x channel EQs
1x Compressor
2x Limiter
Third Party Fx-
3x YOU WA Shock ! - on kick, snare and hats
2x BC Gain 3 (Blue Cat)
4x TAL Reverb 3
1x Voxengo SPAN - on master channel
DR=11
For anyone interested the cubase project file is here:-
https://www.dropbox.com/s/czexdsnhn6zg2 ... g.zip?dl=0
Was difficult to work with this synth for several reasons:-
Percussion was very awkward to get right, kick and snare took several layers each, and it was hard to differentiate higher end sounds like shakers and hats. My attempts at these seem a bit squelchy.
The synth is quite power hungry, even with some simpler sounds with low voices count.
Tended to get stuck notes while working in the editor, and sometimes even just playing.
LFO gradually drifts off over longer periods of play, and sometimes seems to start at random points.
Envelopes also tend to go wrong unexpectedly, causing glitchiness, and sometimes take a while to get back to normal. Everything would play through fine one time, then when playing from the start again it would go completely wrong for some random length of time (on certain patches like bass, and using LFO's).
When first loading the project and playing from the start it would sound ok, but some sounds would have a major DC offset, which would drop to normal after a period, the synth would seem to settle down.
All in all these made it difficult both in designing and editing sounds, and in listening and making changes to the arrangement.
Still, the Dev did say somewhere that he didn't feel it was quite ready yet, and with the interesting modulation approach of this synth i will be watching out for future updates.
The tune is quite basic, but i hope you like it anyway

@sawsq, mmoncur,mehum and Richard Semper:
Many thanks for the "get well" wishes My track is not lost. I will finish it somewhen. The space at my soundcloud account looks fairly empty and has to be filled up
I`m glad if someone can need my patches. I will use the offtime now for watching video tutorials and listen music because this will work, but I rather wait with commenting your tracks a couple of days in addition and better keep my hands still for the moment.
Cheers

Sorry, Jasinski, I'm going to have to disqualify you for hiring a live orchestral percussion section.
Seriously, awesome track.

Yeah, some impressive sound design there and the mixdown is second to none!
circuit modeling and 0-dfb filters are cool

Here's my track. It's a bit less conventional EDM than I usually do, but still broadly falls into the category of Trance or maybe House.
mmoncur - Ascending
http://soundcloud.com/starling-studios/ ... -ascending
Made in Ableton Live 9.1
59 Instances of PG-8X
Ableton built-in effects only:
EQ8
Reverb
Simple Delay
Ping-pong Delay
Compressor
Multiband Dynamics
Limiter
Saturator
THANKS FOR THE PRESETS:
Stardust Media, Richard Semper, Mojo42, Jasinski, Mehum
I will probably tweak the mixing/mastering frantically for the next few days but for now I wanted to get it out there! All comments and opinions are welcome!

Hi all,
Stonkingly good tracks coming in - well done all - will comment soon!
Just to say I have added 2 more layers to my kick and 2 more to my hats patches, so the kick is a little thicker and the hats a little more "fizzy".
Thanks to Richard's kick and hat presets for valuable starting points for these extra layers.

Here's my first ever entry into the KVR OSC!
https://soundcloud.com/simon-matele/sim ... kvr-osc-75
It is an early version, and still really raw without any mixdown adjustments.
Had to keep myself short so I could get it submitted in time
Any suggestions on improvements are really appreciated!
Anyhow, it is a back to the roots tune of the glorious 80's when Irene Cara was the queen of the dancefloor! Tried to capture that 80's mixtape feeling
Lyrics are missing of course...
17x PG-8X was used.
For effects, reverb and delay was used.
Some compression on the kick, and limiter on the master out.
Edit:
Re-uploaded to the final version.
Cleaned up the mix with EQ, compressor and limiter.
Added some missing elements and made the transitions more seamless.
In the final version, 20x PG-8X was used.
You guys really have set the mark for high quality submissions! Well done!
/Simon

Hi all,
I am lucky that I found time to join OSC again. My 3 months pause was longer than I planed.
This time I concentrated more to the groove than to melody and chord progression.
https://soundcloud.com/photonic-1/photo ... -a-haircut
35 instances of PG-8X in Reaper v4.731
Dynamics: TDRFeedBackCompressor, GClip, FluxBitterSweet-II, ReaComp, FerricTDS
Filter: ReaEQ, MQ57, TAL Filter
Delays: Ixox Delay, NastyDLA, TAL DUB II
Reverb: EpicVerb, TAL Reverb III, FreVerbToo
Satturation: FerricTDS, GreenEugen
Stereo: GStereo, MAutopan, MidSideMangler
Analyzer: Span, TT Dynamic Range Meter
Dynamik Range according TT Dynamic Range Meter: DR=11
All presets are done from scratch, except the piano sound is based on the patch from SOS-magazine.
I had to layer some sounds, like kick, snare, percussion and bass.
You can download my presets here:
http://www.astroimages.at/musik/KVR/Photonic - what a haircut.zip
I had some troubles with the PG-8X: in polymode 2, I often had hanging notes. And everytime after loading the project in Reaper, some sounds have been incredible loud for their first notes playing. After those few notes, the vloume was OK and staid OK as long as I worked on the project. When I loaded the project next ime, I had the problem again.
PS: Gute Besserung, Yvonne!
