Yes, it doesn't sound *exactly* the same, but it comes fairly close.
I'm wondering what do you have in mind so we could use this baby of yours to make music. I mean, how do we use it with Reaper, Cubase etc. ?

In contrast to the predecessor Audio-Term II is an instrument, not a 'passive' sound editor for other synths. Although it's planned to run standalone on a special computer it will also be possible to load the realtime engine as VSTi. This is how I recorded the examples.DuX wrote: Will we be able to render multi-WAVs to use these resynthesised sounds in a sampler? ...or maybe even use it as VST?

Whoa! As a standalone and a VSTi? Excellent!
Can't wait!

Cool!
Your first example (from about :50 to 2:00) makes me think: PPG-style reinterpretation of a segment in the movie '2001: A Space Odyssey' called: 'Atmospheres'

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r94mPZA ... e=youtu.be
Under certain circumstances - very useful for soundtrack work.

There's still much work to do, I spent the last weeks optimizing the FIR Decimator and fine-tuning the osc and envelope code. And it's still 32 bit (developed on a Pentium D ... I think I have to buy a newer computer / OS for building a 64bit version).DuX wrote:Whoa! As a standalone and a VSTi. Excellent!

If you'd like a bit of an advice from a veteran PC assembling guy, for audio especially, Intel's Ivy Bridge i7-37xxK based PC can be found for a reasonable amount of money these days and you'll be more than satisfied and covered with that. I also really like to use AMD Phenom II 965 and FX8350 processors for my builds since they don't include any graphics and have native PCI [as older Intel chipsets do like X58], and combine them with some cheapish passively cooled Nvidia VGAs like GT630, GT730 or GT740. You really don't have to spend a fortune these days to have a really good computer for audio. You can get one of these for a few hundred $ these days. Great value for money.
Why native PCI is important? There are still some great PCI audio cards to be found for reasonable money 2nd hand... [RME, Lynx]. Still top of the line cards.
Cheers!

Everytime I add an audio file to the folder and go to scan, it deletes the audio file. I can never get an audio file to read.

Is version 2 out?
I just was messing and looked at the envelope part of the editor. After you load a wave and analyze and then apply there is the env<> part where you can smooth the envelopes of a partial. They make the total sound a bit smoother and less like it has gone through a ring modulator.
I wonder is there is a smooth all partials or is it just 1 by 1 partial envelope smoothing?

The BLUR command on the TEF<> page does the same for all partials. Further it optimzes the partial amplitudes after processing.jk-cream2 wrote:Is version 2 out?

The ringmod - like sound of the analyzer is a result of the fixed slot size of a wavetable. This is also the reason why single notes with stable pitch and harmonic content work best. Here a resynthesized FM sound ("Liquid Stack"), played with Terratec Komplexer:
http://dl.dropbox.com/s/6izxvlmz1ud3tpg ... plexer.mp3
The sound to be analyzed should have it's fundamental pitch at 172.265625 Hz. You can tune the analyzer using the screen keyboard and the +/- 5_CENT buttons if the file doesn't fit the pitch requirement exactly.
Audio-Term II is still under construction and this will take at least 12 months from now. This also depends on the legal situation, which has to be cleared before I make anything available to the public.
Btw, the AT II sound examples are also available on soundcloud now:

But it's still a naked bunch of ugly, experimental code...abstractcats wrote:

Old thread, I know, but just wanted to tell the dev, this program has been incredibly useful to me lately and is an excellent example of solid, useful independent coding. Thanks!!

hi, this is a long shot - check in the trash can the programme creates - can't quite remember what it's called but if it doesn't like a file then it moves it to some error folder / trash can.GospelMusicians wrote:Everytime I add an audio file to the folder and go to scan, it deletes the audio file. Damaged files (or files which don't fit the specification mentioned in the *.pdf) are moved to the recycle bin (RECBIN).ChamomileShark wrote:hi, this is a long shot - check in the trash can the programme creates - can't quite remember what it's called but if it doesn't like a file then it moves it to some error folder / trash can.GospelMusicians wrote:Everytime I add an audio file to the folder and go to scan, it deletes the audio file. Another short sound example from AT II. This was recorded while testing some of the realtime controllers:
