how to sequence/arpeggiate a Waldorft Streichfett

ok, i have not set anything up yet.

i don't necessarily need to play without a computer. was looking for a way to sequence the Streichfett without using the mouse too much. i think a DAW can take care of that... partly anyway.

i also have a TB-3. that is capable of sequencing external gear i think, maybe that can sequence the Streichfett, though then i couldn't play the TB-3 itself (is that right?)

i am looking at a alesis V25 midi keyboard. it has 8 pads, 4 buttons and 4 knobs which i am wondering if i can assign them in such a way i could get an arp and a delay... to control from the keyboard's buttons and knobs for live use. they would be coming from arp and delay plug ins from the DAW.

is this possible?

thanks.

what solutions are available to me?

thanks.
A couple of recently launched budget hardware sequencers:

Worth checking out if you don't want to involve a computer.

Ok rubez I checked the (rather sparse) TR8 manual and it appears that the external input on the TR8 does provide for audio pass through (so no need to trigger - all good). I think that a good yet inexpensive controller for what you want to achieve re: arpeggiation may be the Arturia Beatstep. A good review here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5xUzqT37wk.

Ah looks like skipscada beat me to it.
Just make the music that you enjoy (failing that go for a walk, watch some porn, have a fight with a random bloke until something else happens).

that's good news on the TR-8 audio front.

i have limited space, so since a keyboard is better than the beatstep for playing the Streichfett, it would be great if i could get the arp/delay on that. i am more interested in the effects than the sequencing at the moment, since a DAW can help out with sequencing (but i will be looking for a better sequencing solution in the furture)

what do you think about an arp/delay on the Alesis V25? doable?

Post

That Alesis keyboard will work. Personally, I would find a two octave keyboard very frustrating. I would get a 61 note keyboard and not worry about drum trigger pads or buttons or sliders so much for now. But if space is limited, yes, that will work.

And again, you keep talking about arpeggiators and delays as if they were the same thing. They are not even remotely the same thing. But FL Studio will provide both.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

i know arp and delay is different. they are the only 2 effects i need.

i don't play keyboard, so limiting myself to 2 octaves would probably be beneficial, and space is definitely an issue. if i didn't need the effects i would get an even smaller keyboard without assignable knobs/buttons.

Concerning Arpeggiator there are some plugins for this and some hosts like e.g. Cubase Pro 8 and Live 9 got built-in ones (Cubase also has a step sequencer plugin).
i don't understand how an arpeggiator would work from a DAW...

would i be able to trigger it at any time without setting it up with the mouse first?

and likewise, sequencing. i couldn't choose between 'scene's without mouse?
