Hello everyone,

I'm trying to identify a sound that's been bugging me for a while. Now I'm pretty sure it's been used in loads of classic deep house tracks, but annoyingly, now that I've come to ask the question I can only think of one. It almost sounds like a bird call or some sample from nature, though it could just be FX variations of that high string sound. It just sounds really familiar and I can't get it out of my head.

Any ideas?

I'd say it's a variation of the string sound, as you suggested. Sounds like it just has some portamento going on.

Lol, it does sound a bit like the Miami Vice thing

Thought it was a classic sample, like the loon thing or summat. Prob just a classic technique.

What's that sound!
