Question about Propellerhead's Reason (computer authorization & ignition key)

so I picked up a used Reason license lately,
no ignition key included.

so I'm using the (single) computer authorization to run it.
so far so good.

but then I notice it's running this 'codemeter' app in the systray (on windows 7).
not so kool, as I like to run a lean machine and minimize on this kind of background process - especially if it's got an actual application running in the systray.

so, I am intending to pick up an ignition key anyways, what I'm wondering is will using an ignition key do away with this codemeter app running ?

Mine is a net connection.

Codemeter is apparently not included any longer as of 8.2 though if you want to use the key you can download it separately.
