According to some newly discovered journal entries, Robert (Bob) Moog's last name is actually pronounced "mogue", as in "analogue." But, his first name is pronounced "robital", as in "digital." Oh, and apparently he was a robot constructed from spare Tandy shortwave radio parts.

Studio One version 3.1 will be released in four weeks time. Version 3.0 was ready for release a week or so after version 2.6.5 but the developers wanted to drop some little-used features such as editing multiple tracks in the piano roll. But the good news is that they have at last responded to everyone's request to switch to a flat look in grey, orange, and black. And since it was too easy to tell which instrument was on which track, they've switched to an FL Studio-like channel window.

You forgot to mention the best new feature of all in v3.1 - Presonus heard all the complaints about the arrange and mix view sync issues, and made big changes. Now, tracks in the mixer and arrange view shuffle and reorganize themselves automatically, randomly, and completely independent of one another every two minutes...and, no, you can't change it in the preferences.garryknight wrote:Studio One version 3.1 will be released in four weeks time. An obscure patent troll has been recognised by a US court as the originator of the idea of recording music in the form of ones and zeroes. The judge also saw the merits of the patent holder's idea of calculating a license fee for this technology: a dollar sign, followed by a one, followed by as many zeroes as were recorded by the patent infringer.
Sony and Phillips, whose patents in this field have been invalidated by this decision, have been in conference with music technology and consumer goods manufacturers worldwide and the current plan is to shift to a new paradigm for all music recording and reproduction. Henceforth, it will recorded in the form of twos and threes. Marketing consultants report that it sounds at least twice, maybe even three times as good.
New recording and reproduction equipment will be needed, of course, but it is hoped that the anticipated spike in sales of music and recording equipment compatible with the new twos n' threes technology will help revive the Japanese and American economies.
Widely recognised authority on digital music issues, Neil Young, was asked for a response to the new plan but appeared unable to comprehend the benefits of the new technology which he predicted would be "crap compared to vinyl" and was reported as having cursed out journalists for failure to record his responses on the Pono equipment he endorses.

A well known soundtrack composer has contacted Valhalla Audio and requested they make a special version of their delay, to be called Zimmer

The delay works by splitting the audio signal into frames, and the manual gives a walk-through on how to use them. Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan is alpha-testing the delay and putting it through its paces on her upcoming remake of the album Stumbling Towards Ecstasy. Latest word is that the album will be delayed by about a month.Numanoid wrote:A well known soundtrack composer has contacted Valhalla Audio and requested they make a special version of their delay, to be called Zimmer

Cher is shortened from Muncher, she got the nickname as she ate like a pig when she was a toddler.

The term "monosynth" means that you can only own and use one synth. They were originally developed in the Soviet Union in the 1950s to prevent the spread of GAS, which could be transmitted by those perverted polysynths.

Hardcore New Romantic pop music got its name from the fact that it's a form of music.

m-audio will launch a keyboard specially designed for minimal music. It has 3/12 octaves keys. Which is considered enough by a significant amount of music producers.
According to Maslow's pyramid of needs:
If there will ever be VSTs released that are:
- cheap
- musical
- light on CPU
- nice GUI
- awesome sounding
- use a decent amount of disk space
- stable in all DAWs
- available for PC and MAC and...
- in 32bit and 64 bits
- no dongle / ilok
- supreme support
If you get such a VST you will go through the roof of the pyramide of needs and by this instantly become a madman.
Therefore it is strickly forbidden by allmost all goverments in the world to launch such VSTs.
Well, i don't know what happened to Camel Audio when trying to release Alchemy 2, but...

Actually, when it comes to virtual synthesizers, you can only have any two out of three:
1) Cheap
2) Cheerful
3) Cowbell
