Indeed! I find a lot of use for it as a gate or a compressor, or as transient designer type thing. It surely does A LOT! And CPU usage is very mild if you activate only few things needed.MFXxx wrote:I know it's so much more than a filter

Still having issues with the Pad button...
A particular project I'm working on right now all hinges on the Pad button being set to -12... every time I work on it, I set it to -12 and hit "Save", and every time I reload the project the GUI indicates it's set correctly to -12, but the LED meter is showing clipping (i.e. it's actually set to 0db)... I have to toggle thru to -12db every time, but the setting is not saved properly with that instance.
Deleting the instance and setting it up from scratch produces no change.

Bought it! Sounds fantastic and the scalable UI is beautiful. The visualizations for the filters and LFOs are extraordinarily good. A stunning piece of software!
Sometimes I have trouble engaging fine editing via the Shift key on Win 7 and Studio One. I will email with more details when time permits.

So I take it that the general consensus is the drop is absolutely worthy of its name? For that moment you want to drop some breaks into your track and start raising the cutoff on the lowpass? Sounds really good from the demos

Well deserved. One of the best, most functional, great sounding filters out there IMO.
Congrats Andy!

Thanks for the bug report, I have reproduced it - sorry to hear it's still there. This is a pretty major pain so I'll make sure to fix it for the next release.mustgroove wrote:Still having issues with the Pad button...

PS: you can work around this issue by disabling "Lock Pad" in the preset menu. This is a bug in that when you load from song the plugin should ignore the "Lock Pad" option since you should always recall whatever you saved, but disabling it will work for now. The "Lock Pad" button is only meant to work when browsing for presets, not when loading from song.

I had a little e-mail exchange with Andy about using peakclip in Glue and he suggested I try Drop, so I did. Among some applications I tried Drop as guitar overdrive/distortion and boy, was I surprised!
Here are some quick tones I got

PS, the Drop is used as an overdrive/distortion and cab sim is from Nebula, there are a little pre/post EQ, but nothing major -- some low-shelf cut going into Drop and some top end boost after.

Indeed it sounds convincing !
I wonder how good an amp sim could be if modeled by Andy.
But if he has plans for it, hope he'll consider a BASS amp too !

Hi Andy after watching the vid of you rambling through what the drop does then i had to buy it.
great little Fx's plugin you have yourself there.
i was browsing this thread and found you saying this... was this a hint for a future plugins?
#For a synth product I will have more advanced ADSR envelopes with curve, but that isn't suitable for The Drop since it is an effect plugin that has to be able to operate properly without MIDI triggering, and the current AHR analog modelled envelope followers are best for this purpose.#
