Got to rebuild my rig, hopefully Guitar Center has these, there's only one real local guitar store to test things out in here.

This is what I want, hopefully that link works, the Img tag is way too small for my fingers on this Ipad. I guess purple works, the blue doesn't look good. Practically one of the last shredder style guitars still out there, Jackson is still alive.

Nope, the J is a single coil.Uncle E wrote:That's interesting. So is the J pickup hum canceling?Vectorman wrote:Latest bass, Ibanez SR650. Was in the market for a P or P/J and stumbled across this new model with Nordstrand-designed pickups.

Heya,
The Hetfiefld 'Eet Fuk' is mine now, for $1000 AUD.
So yeah, I fixed the cold solders and wired the jack on-
all good to go.
The action is still bleeding terrible though.
Eric, if you want to make an offer, I'd be interested to hear a call-
I'd probably not like to on sell through JRR,
pm if you have an offer.
There is nothing wrong with it except the action,
and the jack is Epiphone.
It has a cool feel, I think it likes me coz I fixed the electronics.
Peeps have worn down the frets pertaining to lo E

Yes, it's here and it's a beaut. I have to wait till this evening before I can plug it in, but straight out the box it has a great feel and action. It came with Picato strings which I've never heard of before but they are good (though I'll probably put a heavier set on ASAP).macmurphy wrote:lovely guitars. i'd rather like one myself.

The acoustic sound is bright but fills out nicely. I went with a korina body (2-piece), and it works well. I'm well happy, pending ecstatic when I get to my amp.
The only issue is that the guitar has ended up a inch or so longer than expected so doesn't fit in a Gator All-Fit case, I need the XL one. So no real problems.
EDIT: Plugged it in and it's as good as I remember. The humbucker is hot, so the coil tapping is useful and with the single coil, and especially good tone control, it is actually quite flexible. Sounds are bright/trebly, but with some substance and distorted it's great. Think American Idiot through TV speakers (kinda-ish).
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I think the next one I'll get is a Reverend Club King. I've got a few Reverends and I love em. But not a semi.

It's been a while since I bought a guitar, but I think my next purchase will definitely be a 12 string acoustic or a decent resonator. I have most of the bases (and basses) cover with electrics, but only have one 6 string acoustic and would love to have some more options that I currently have.
Resonator would probably end up with an open tuning and mostly be played with a slide though.
