As far as an alternative, it seems to me that the newer polyplex, included in komplete is probably what a lot of people are using. Seems to have many similarities.

And no they won't make a vst version.

I am interested in the sound design aspects of PolyPlex or Slayer (or Battery or other). Any additional feature's will also be welcome.

I want to use my longer samples mostly orchestral sounds and see what I come up with. It may be PolyPlex is only a drum sampler whereas S-Layer can do pads and there are audio demos included in an above post.

Any PolyPlex vs S-Layer comparisons will be appreciated.
