They were so devoted to blending all that was good in guitar music - Blues, Jazz, folk, classical, flamenco...it was indeed a special period... 
It's sad when one reads an obituary and thinks Well at least he made it to 70, but with Bert and seemingly so many others not even making it past their 60s...
