I'm very excited to present my first VST/AU plugin: Thales Model I! From the manual:
Thales Model I is a virtual plugin for Windows VST (32bit & 64bit), Mac OS X VST and AU. Thales Model I features the sound generated by early sixties computer. The sounds have been sourced in public domain films, which means that they are not clean: tape noises and background hiss are part of the sound of this very special rompler. Because of this, Thales Model I's tone is reminiscent of the mellotron.

Because Thales Model I is based on very old computer sound, the tones are simple and often sound "organ" like. Most of the sounds are looped and the full product includes all the version of the plugin (Windows and Mac files, 32bit and 64bit VST plugins and AU) as well as a manual.

Note that Thales Model I has been developed with Maize Sampler and tested on Windows 8 and Mac OS X using FL Studio and Reaper.

If you find bugs, send an email with all the details (your OS, which version of the plugin you use) at samplesciencemtl (at) hotmail (dot) com

I just wanted to thanks the people who bought the instrument. Thales Model I is an unexpected runaway success! Obviously, the free version is very popular too, at 1 167 downloads so far in three days, it's pretty good for a specialized plugin.

For those who bought the plugin, there's a free preset pack here at KVR:

Also, if you're into lofi electronics, Boards Of Canada and the likes, Thales is something that might be of interest to you.

Just bought this.

Sounds great in a bad way which is good :hihi:

Could easily be my go to plugin for these kind of
lo-fi 60's sounds. I like that it is very simplistic to use and
if I want a different sound, well, then I have plenty
of other plugins for further sound mangling.

Great work :tu:

Thank you! You got the point: simple to use rompler which can easily sound good if you ad your own effects to it. The sounds are really there to be mangled, it's the easy route to have those sixties computer's synthesizer sounds DNA into your tracks!

I've been interviewed on bedroom producer's blog to talk a little bit about Thales Model I and it's concept:

Also, funnily, there's a blog who talks about Thales Model I, and just below you can see a post about Braun designs (by Dieter Rams) which is exactly the source of inspiration for Thales's GUI:

There's a new demo track for Thales Model I. It shows off how it's possible to make all kind of sounds lofi synthesizer tones with it, from sub basses to high pitched keys:
