I'm looking for a stepsequencer, playing wav files, that i can use in a live performance.
Ideally i would program an external controller, similar to a launchpad to control it. Functions like swing are important.

Can anybody recommend a vsti? Preferably nothing too heavy on CPU.

Cheers

Numerology 4 by Five12. It doesn't get any more comprehensive (or better) than this.

These are excellent suggestions, thanks so much. I read into Monoplugs B-step sequencer this weekend actually and i'm going to try the demo. Five12's sequencer looks amazing!!

I recommend Renoise in combination with the brilliant "lauflicht step sequencer" plugin:

Hii. I perform with ableton live. But i want a good stepsequencer for another controller. Preferably one with Swing, multiple visible lanes and support for a controller.

Basically like the sequencer in Machine or Push, but as a vsti so that i can program any controller to use myself.

This... it's really one of my favorite step sequencers. However, I tend to use it more in the studio than for live stufff.

I also recommend Numerology 4 and a Launch Pad. I really love this combination. Great for live improvisation.
I also think the Beatstep Pro will be very cool for this kind of thing. I have one on pre-order, can't wait!
