I understand why SquaredHeads took the decision to disable it for the demo though.
The reason is very simple: Nora is a MIDI effect plugin, it's not an audio instrument or effect, you could easily take advantage of it only having the demo. I cannot include (and I consider it annoying) random noises or notes from time to time, like some synths does. And I don't like the triad periods, because it means that Nora couldn't be a clean installation like it's now.

My only option was to limit the demo. They're planned randomizer videos :)

Understood,
Nora's demo is very generous, some other products have annoying boxes that pop up randomly or force the user to reload the plug after a set amount of time.
As you say users could easily take advantage and bypass the limitations.

Looking forward to any videos.

There's also Midi Madness.

Thesys. Pick a scale (or not), build a pattern, set some steps to random (pitch, chord, strike, ratchet etc.), feed a note or chord and it will generate live ongoing changes. Has it's own sound generator or will control other VSTi's. Unless you use Logic, in which case Thesys is a sorry waste of money (what, me bitter?).

i have several midi generator vsts, don't think any are random but they do have lfos et c. to produce nonrepeating chaos.

miniseries is very simple, hyperion is more.

I was exploring random pattern/phrase generation possibilities inside Kontakt throughout last year.
Pattern generator / pattern based effects automation.
Random sound layer mix / effect parameters morph.
Shuffling keyboard input (fun on drumkits).
Random arp/pitch sequencing.
Random pattern/phrase generator.
I find randomness fascinating. Kontakt generates MIDI, so its output can be routed elsewhere, or fed back to another Kontakt instrument.

Thank You All...screw it, i just went ahead and purchased Nora 2.2...

Not trying to hijack this very interesting thread by BasariStudios but my curiosity overwhelms me.

Is there an iPad app midi controller that can Random Arp/Sequencer/Phrases but with assistance of multi-touch. I realize that the plugins mentioned are VST (VSTi) midi fx but if these were ported (this will not happen) to the iPad and they will work as a midi controller.

In any case I will try the suggested plugins as the curiosity overwhelms me.

It works both ways your thread brought a lot of options to the table.
I doubt you will regret your decision though.

Remember Squaredheads have a dedicated forum.

Maybe its my mistake or something i don't know how to do. What i mean is they
run more like FREE instead of being lock to Tempo or Time Signature and is more
not being locked with Time Signature then Tempo, will do some research.

The C+B Generator is part of Nora, there's a demo of Nora but the randomizer module is only available in the full version.

I had a look at the Java midirandomizer and it does share a few similarities with Nora's C+B Generator although I have to say its a lot less immediate, for me randomization needs immediate feedback as in realtime. :)
Nora also works polyphonically so the Phrases/Melodies may include chord voicings if its instructed to do so, it also does monophonic if required with slides and all that fun stuff.
Nora is obviously a lot more polished and way more user friendly imo.

For a free App the Java midirandomizer does a respectable job and I like the idea that it can create many variations with a single click. Thats a good feature for sure. :)

Yes I should have read this thread a bit more carefully.

Nora is getting such great reviews I may just end up purchasing it on the next big sale.

Question:
Is there any advantage to running Nora on a track as a VSTi as compared to running Nora and who knows what else inside Bidule on an Instrument track.
