Any sample collections or vsts that use the actual sounds from these types of hardware units?

samples are not the way I would go to get sounds like this. I prefer modeled analogs to do that and I would probably recommend you get both bazille and Xils4 add in the arturia box set to add in the modular Moog and Arp 2600. Any of these would be better than using a sampler that worked with samples from something like this. I hear MUX is a nice modular environment as well

Well, IMHO the point of a modular system is to explore and discover weird, unconventional sounds which a fixed architecture synth is less suited for. So if he just wants a collection of weird, unconventional samples, he should say so... because they wouldn't necessarily have to come from an analog modular. Otherwise, a fixed set of samples will never capture the thrill of exploration and discovery that is the modular sonic journey. (That sounded way more New Agey then I really am!) But yeah, its about the journey, not the destination. That's why I say that looking for modular samples is missing the point entirely.Kriminal wrote:Perhaps he actually wants samples...
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

There's a free loop library at sampleradar.com called modular madness. Maybe that's what you're looking for.
I'm not on my computer right now, so fetching a link is kinda hard, but you can easily find it on their website.

Beat has a set of modular samples for Zampler from a Pittsburgh modular synth. https://www.facebook.com/beat.magazin/p ... 33693417:0

Actually, SoundMorph released Modular UI the other day, containing over 1000+ sounds designed and sourced entirely from Richard Devine’s personal Eurorack Modular, it's here: http://soundmorph.com/?page=products&spack=modular
And while we are talking Modular Synth, here's a picture of the Luftrum Ambient Rack II - my newly obtained Eurorack system. It's sketched on modulargrid.net here: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/147304
Off topic I know, couldn't resist tho...

here's 1100+ one shots and FX - dig in.

twisted tools, richard devine, glitch machines.. have some libraries that feature lot's of modular synth sounds.
there's some other stuff from samplephonics that features modulars as sound sources.

If you have Kontakt, it's Hollow Sun all the way! Lots of really useable stuff in Hexxon, SOTU, Modular Toolbox, Tesla Coils... (just off the top of my head).
There's Samplephonics Dirty Modular too. Probably dozens of other beside, but these are the ones that spring to mind. If modular samples are well recorded you can do a lot of interesting stuff with them in Kontakt. Certainly you can also get close enough as makes no difference with really decent plugins like Bazille and some nifty post-processing.

For what I recall purchasing one of the really nice audio manglers from Glitchmachines, Quadrant, released last year, comes with a bunch of good weird sample sets which actually a part of them were sampled out of a modular synth.
If you wanna have a look, in the website description is more exhaustive

Cheers

Minimal Systems Instruments have a Live Pack containing a bunch of sampled analog modulars ... only £2.50 atm.
