Should remove all doubt now  :hyper: :tu:

I figure most of you saw this, and it's Windows only, but a pretty awesome looking free synth: http://www.vstzone.sk/#eclipsis

Based on one of those synth-builders (Flowstone), though; not sure how good it is these days.

I did a quick test yesterday. Very unusual and challanging handling. Would take a time to know this concept and to make new sounds. The focus is clear on FM-sounds. An OSC with this synth would definitively sound different.

I checked Eclipsis recently and made some patches from scratch. Actually I found this synth so good that made a short demo track :). If anyone would be interested, patches for download here: https://archive.org/details/Eclipsis_patches

For me this synth has some unique features and very decent sound. It can be harsh, metallic and worm depending on settings. You can sculp the sound through many fm options to get very aggresive sounds. I didn' get bored at all making sounds, it called to go deeper. ;)

Good points of Eclipsis might be:
- volume adsr, filter (17 types), fm, filter fm for each of 3 oscillators separately,
- osc waveshaper adding much more varieties,
- 6 LFOs (2 of them with 16 steps), 24 envelope shapes,
- arp/gate with 32 step,
- many options for fm modulation,
- very clear gui.

What I think could be improved:
- I couldn't see filter cutoff adsr (only adsr for filter fm),
- no multiple oscillators per voice, I mean you have 3 oscillators per voice that cannot be multiplied, so for supersaws rather other synths should be used.
Ups... I didn't mean to write a review. :dog: I just was impressed by this thing and it seems to have some unique style which I liked.

Would be very nice to see it in OSC contest! :tu: Too good 2b missed! ;) I'd have no excuse not to participate though.

Very cool! :) Nice work on this run down / example

Animehaus told me about the thread earlier this month: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=428571 and now you guys are so excited definitely sounds like a nice direction :tu:

Anyone experienced Run Beer Run stuff? Whats your take?

I used one of his midi utilities... RobotArms... to work around stuck note bugs I was having with an early version of BlueArp. Very handy, used it for several OSCs. There are some other creative midi tools in there, although as he's coming at it from a live-play bass guitar perspective, and I'm more of a mouse-driven producer, the other ones didn't do it for me.

His stuff's all synthedit, so no x64 or mac versions. His UIs are so bad its funny; possibly a deliberate homage to guitar stomp boxes & DIY. Have not tried his synths.

Hello All

Just wondering if an OSC using M42 or M51 would be good?

They are both free on westgate sounds website.

These are great synths for creating space ambient soundscapes.

cheers

I tested them out and got errors. It doesn't seem stable enough yet. I'd like to hear experiences from others.
