I demoed it, its GUI is very well thought through and intuitive at least for just a tweaker like me, and it makes really big and complex sounds.
But it has in many of its presets this uper shelf digital abrasiveness to it, that I do not personally like. Something similar to what linplug's spectral does as well. And that 'soft' setting it has, solves it only partially.

It's on sale right now at a no-brainer price (Christmas eve 2014). I just snatched up a license.Pacific05 wrote:I'd take a look in the marketplace. Actually re-discovering Diversion recently. Get some wonderful, warm tones from it, very nice. Still kills my CPU with pads, but, for simpler patches, it's pretty ok. The problem is, the pads sounds so nice that you want to do them anyway.

I really like the unique option of creating a wave, recording it, then plopping it in an osc and tweaking it as a sample - especially with the grain option. This is one cool synth.

Yeah I discovered Diversion just last month and was impressed by how good and different it sounds compared to the majority of the currently most popular VSTs. It is capable of some seriously insane but also beautiful sounds. I don't look at Diversion as a go-to synth for bread and butter sounds (although it's more than capable of those too), so I don't mind the high CPU consumption that much. It's more for sparkling new musical ideas and covering soundscapes, which my main synth isn't that capable of.
I hope it will get some more updates in the future, I see it was quite a long time since the last one, and even those where just some minor fixes and GUI updates (gotta say it is a beautiful GUI)... but as long as it is supported and works I couldn't complain
