I just purchased the Native Instruments Monark Reactor instrument. It has been designed to emulate an earlier analog (MM?) synth. This was an instant favorite... love at first hear! It runs in Reactor Player or Reactor full version. The sound is warm and creamy. So far, all the presets are gorgeous and it is a dead simple synth to learn. It's currently on sale at 50% off at the NI website. I have quite a few really nice VSTi synths but this one inspires me to no end! Highly recommended! I'll review it after I have a while to become more familiar with it.

Wait till you start messing with the distortion/overload/feedback stages this thing has. Really opens up the sound palette, almost into sync-like sounds, but more organic.

Arguably the best virtual synth for synthetic basses.

Everything I've purchased over the years from NI is top shelf in my book... Guitar Rig Pro, Drum Lab, Kore, Abby Road, Polyplex (WOW), Reaktor, etc.

I'd almost forgotten I have it. Should pull it up and mess around with it again. I do remember it being great for the more aggressive stuff. As I recall, Diva seemed to be more appropriate for the more smooth/creamy type Moog basses (the kind of thing I used to use the Little Phatty for before getting rid of it). Atm I'm finding myself bypassing softsynth filters altogether for Moog bass and using the new Moog filter in Cytomic's The Drop.
One complaint I had with Monarch (unless they've done an update and addressed that by now) is that the more commonly desired choices for pitch bend ranges were not offered.

It's easy to change the pitch bend range in Reaktor...
The control for pitch bend range is defined from 0 to 1, which means it is scaled differently somewhere deep inside the structure. So, if the range 0-1 is scaled to 5-9 semitones, that just means you have to set the range of the knob to fit the range of 2-12 semitones.
If you set the knob range to go from -1.5 to 1.5, you will get an actual pitch bend range from 0 to 12 semitones. If you don't want to have 0 semitones as an option, just set the lowest value to -0.75 and that's it, now it's set to 2 semitones at minimum.

Is that an option you can only get at with full Reatkor, not the player? I googled and found a reference where someone posted a screenshot of the button you click to get at the pitch bend settings...right next to the magnifying glass and down arrow. I don't have that button in Reaktor Player...just the magnifying glass and down arrow buttons.

I just re-posted my thread with 128 free Monark partches that i had deleted a while ago (but kept the important content i na text file):

As you could see there the modules could not be fully edited but they could be used for other ensembles.
It seems to be important to use oscillator modules based on core modules (not the "basic" oscillator modules) or the enveleope release will not work properly.
