Could I be so bold as to suggest some percussion samples with a lot of reverb on them?
I know that's not the answer you were looking for but it really is as simple as that.
Have a dig around for sample packs of live persuasion sounds - bongos/congas/cowbells/tambourines etc, get a groove going, and then smother in reverb.
For groove ideas, listen to old disco, soul/rnb & latin influenced records and a lot of house, as all this stuff really is is just house slowed down with some flute type sounds to make it 'tropical'.
