Thanks! It's a bit more complicated for our plug-ins, since we have a variable aspect ratio (i.e. Expert Mode on G8 and Modulation Mode on Sandman). It's definitely a good feature and something we would like to pursue.

Speaking of new features, I was finally able to track down the 32-bit Windows bug where Sandman wasn't showing up for certain users. It ended up being a single missing "/" is the installer that was only affecting certain non-English computers. Now that it is out of the way, I'm tracking down an OS X gremlin that is causing strange behavior in the 1.0.2 beta. After these critical bugs are fixed, I will then sit down and start implementing the Kill Switch for Sandman 1.1, followed by some other feature requests. Once Sandman and G8 1.1 are out, I will split work between Sandman's new features and finishing our next plug-in, Fault. We have Avid/Digidesign developer accounts, so we're getting some security certificates signed so that we can release AAX/RTAS versions of Sandman.

The Sandman launch sale is now over. However, if you missed it, we will be reprising the sale for a week for Black Friday.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased our products so far! It's been an amazing week for us. I've been really happy reading everyone's reviews and experiences with Sandman. I'm very excited that I can spend more of my time making plug-ins.

I'm really enjoying this plug, really has personality and that's how delays should be.

If/when you get the side chain working on Logic for G8, i'll buy that one too. :-)

Definitely! We're waiting on JUCE to add native sidechain to the other formats. We're hoping that the recent ROLI acquisition speeds up that process. When that happens, we will be adding it to G8 immediately, and releasing it in additional formats when sidechain support is added (VST3, AAX, and RTAS). I have it in my mind that it will be released as G8 1.5 or 2.0 (either way, free update to all existing customers). I'm imagining that, since re-doing the inputs and outputs will probably break compatibility with existing projects.

We didn't realize that JUCE lacked this support for G8 until we were significantly far along in the development process. It seemed like such an obvious thing for a plug-in wrapper to support!

Hi Michael,

The 1.0.2 OS X beta (downloadable from the account page) has been reported to fix the issue. It introduced an unusual bug that only appears about 10% of the time on select computers, so I'm searching for a fix for that before 1.0.2 is available as stable (and as the official demo version).

We haven't had a beta tester with XP SP3 or higher yet. We've had trouble with G8 on old, 32-bit computers and we're not sure whether it's old graphics hardware or the 32-bit OS. G8 definitely is more demanding on the graphics front, since we're using OpenGL to animate a lot of components simultaneously.

The other main problem with XP is that it requires us to compile using the "v120_xp" toolchain in Visual Studio, which apparently impacts performance for other users. If we have enough XP users requesting builds, then it might be worth pursuing a separate build. However, each build target adds a lot of time for testing and distribution for each bug-fix and feature update.

If anybody's reading this that has a 32-bit Windows computer (Vista or newer) with decent graphics hardware, shoot us an e-mail! I'd like to figure out the G8 graphics situation so that I can post more accurate hardware requirements.
