a new sound

it's been a while since i've found something i thought was worth releasing
this oscillator algorithm is afaik completely new. it produces a constant spectral modulation similar to unison sounds. increased modulation levels approach noise. it is well suited for ensemble synthesis.
the algorithm is parameterised somewhat unusually but naturally - "scale" produces a more strident timbre, raising the spectrum, volume and pitch stability. "magnitude" affects the depth of modulation, and has an angle parameter that affects the character of modulation.
the oscillator spectrum falls off gently at higher frequencies, but the algorithm conveniences a method of producing an integer multiple output which can be layered to raise higher partials - both spectrum and modulation are affected by the multiple value.
if you reduce the settings to a fixed periodic waveform, aliasing is apparent with higher pitches. but, you will never use this synth for fixed periodic waveforms, you will use it for lush expansive massive sounding ensembles that can dissolve continuously into fuzz with lots of reverb. i will use it for jazz ensemble sounds.
okay - this synth is seriously BETA because i just slapped the architecture together quickly. but do not let that deter you from rushing to my website to pay for it immediately. special price is $13, a real bargain, remember to place your purchase in a hurry, it's friday.
there are presently no patches or docs. there are definately bugs. as of this night, the filter clicks if driven over nyquist (easy fix but tomorrow). there are things that will change. but i think you'll agree, when you get the gist of it, it's nifty, and it's going to get used.
DEMO has 2 voice poly and bird nosies.

filter cap at nyquist is fixed..
let me know if you find any wrong modulation routing.. been doublechecked visually but my ears are objecting to further headphone use atm so they have not been aurally verified.
aah, the will i develop for mac question..

Very impressive, I'd like to hear it patched.

thank you!RunBeerRun wrote:Very impressive
may i casually remind the public that i do not often place ITW products for availability... i'm hoping to sell three licenses by sunday, or it's going to cost me another three licenses for late fees
my ears have been reacting extraordinarily poorly to sound sources associated with magnetic fields recently, so i have to shorten this statement to "i'd like to hear". let's not discuss this further, but, as said, i haven't made a habit of releasing ITW products over the years.RunBeerRun wrote:I'd like to hear it patched.

OK, apologies so with the last 3, I get essentially no sound.
Something reads sub 20Hz, but I really cant get sound above that.

I'll be picking this up Monday when I'm back from London. Congratulations on reaching beta! Look forward to giving this a spin.

"scale" at zero = no sound.. you do that?ouroboros wrote:OK, apologies so with the last 3, I get essentially no sound.
