a question about the mix...

hello people , i would like to know , when you're mixing do you aim the 0db VU or the 0db digital ? what is the best to do to keep a rock/pop/metal mix natural ? how 0db do you keep to add the touch of mastering? Thx.

I usually aim for roughly around -6dBFS on the master when I do mixdowns. If it's a couple dab over or under that I don't worry about it.
