I'm looking for a rhythmic effect VST like the Reason synth Malstrom. Preferably one that can do various filters and wave forms besides just Sine, Square, Triangle, Random Square, etc. Also, preferably with a lot of presets that are usable.

Rhythmic Tangent, it was in one of the Developer Challenges. The link should work(you can find the various dc's by Google). It did various rhythm stuff-filters, tremolo, also had bit crush, and like 3 or 4 others.

I've used Camel Space for a while now. I'm looking for something more like Reasons Malstrom or Roger Linn's Adrenalinn. I would d/l Adrenalinn Sync but my DAW is 64-bit.

That explains it!

Audio Damage's BigSeq2
Sugar Byte's WOW2
FilterBank3 (it was actually free with an issue of the German magazine "Beat" a few months back)
Loomer's Sequent

Also, if you have Guitar Rig, you can roll your own filter sequence effects really easily, using Analog Sequencers (in the "modifiers" section) and a filter effect. or two. or more. 8)

It's a nifty little sandbox.

Speaking of sandboxes, while I don't know of any by name, there must be some filter sequence type effects available for Reaktor at the user library.

I might have to give Guitar Rig a shot. NI in general really. I've heard such great things about Reactor also.

CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, using Reaper and a fine selection of freeware plugins.

Dont know R Linn effect, but when I hear Rythmic effects, I think of Xils-Lab RAMSES.

In addition to the common Trance Gate effects, it can do easily combined metrics, or adapt to any human shuffle like 76% swing, or non exact and symetric grooves ie human, very precisely. You can additionnally smooth, shape everything in real time, or use it completely live. All this with pristine 0df non linear analog filters !

Anyway, this is Ramses processing a simple pad sequence with only presets so that you can see if it feeds your needs, or less. ( and it has more than 170 presets to get you started )

Have a look at FilterShaper 3 - freely drawable LFOs, modulatable LFO speed and intensity, two filters etc.

FilterShaper 3 and WOW 2 are great. I have both.
