I was only familiar with Bruce through his work with Cream..therefore, in 1969 when Songs for a Tailor came out,
the very first tune "Never Tell Your Mother She's Out of Tune" with that heavy aggressive bass, driving horns and Jack singing for all he was worth just absolutely blew my tender 14 yr old mind.

A couple months ago I listened to this for the first time in decades. It still gives me chills. RIP Mr. Bruce.

OMG, I'm so sorry. Truly one of the best!

It kind of annoys me when Crapton seems to be the one who gets remembered for Cream, yet to me Jack Bruce was far more Cream than anyone else. He played things that were definitely not rock music, yet made them fit within the rock framework.

Agreed. Clapton is a good guitarist but settled for safe lame dippy white boy plays the blues after Layla. Jack never stopped growing and taking chances. His work with Kip Hanrahan is amazing. Also his solo albums, especially the first 3 after Cream. And his voice just got better and better. People who think that Bruces high point was the Cream have a lot of catching up to do. The man leaves an amazing musical legacy. We'll not see or HEAR his like again. RIP
