Here is what it sounds like when I change buffer size of the ASIO driver - different patterns of cut-outs. Running at 44.1k this time just to see if it had an effect on the problem; it didn't.
Thank you very much for testing and creating the files! I have the feeling that certain changes in the block lengths cause the problem. Now I have some code reviewing to do... :)

Hi Stian, did you manage to track down the cause of this and/or figure out a solution?

2 of my favourite plugins of 2014, Multiply and CM Verb, both exhibit this behaviour. Would love to have them running without issues at zero latency, because they're very usable effects. I'm very impressed.

No rush if you have paying customers to attend. Just thought I'd give this a friendly bump :)

I'm sorry that this has taken so long. I had major problems reproducing this issue, but I managed to track it down at last. It only seems noticeable if the audio output buffer sizes are powers of two, like 512, 1024, etc. The problem is that Multiply (and Verberate as well) is much more efficient when working with powers of two as block size. The strange thing about FL Studio is that the block lengths vary and they are sometimes extremely short (like 11 samples). The block sizes seem limited upwards to the audio device buffer size, though. The problem was the transition between the efficient mode (with power of two block sizes) and the standard mode which caused glitches. It is not a big issue to fix now that I know the problem, and I'll post an update this week. The performance won't be as good as as in other hosts, though. I'm glad to hear you like both Multiply and CM Verb apart from mentioned the issue. :)

Best,
Stian

Hi!

I've just uploaded Multiply 1.1.1 that should solve the FL Studio issue. Here are the download links: These are the additional changes:
  • CPU optimizations
  • Added new level lock button to lock relation between dry and effect levels
  • Fixed incorrect folder for uninstall data in Windows installers
  • Control highlighting of automated parameters in Pro Tools
  • Support for the Ctrl+Alt+Cmd shortcut for the automation menu in Pro Tools
I'll update our web site and send out news messages ASAP.

Best,
Stian

Excellent. :)

Great. It would be even better if the Windows installer could automatically see where the default VSTPlugins folder location is.

It's easy if you know how

If done right.

I remember installing some Plugin Demos (from a different company) and the Installer adjusted the default registry entry (without asking).

Support were apologetic and fixed the issue but it caused me some confusion.
Sorry for the trouble!

The registry key that is affected is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VST\VSTPluginsPath

You can either delete it or change the value to the path of whatever you
would like the default plugin path to be.

Further, if you have not done so already, please use the latest VST installer.

Again, our apologies for the irritation.
Good idea (perhaps) if done right.

Thanks for the tip, I wasn't even aware there was a standard for that. It should be possible to read that value and use it as default for the VST2 target folder. We definitely won't overwrite the value, though... :)

Really appreciate the update, and you looking into this issue. However, I'm afraid the problem persists for me with v1.1.1.

Regularity of these still change with ASIO buffer size.

That is really strange. It works glitch free here and I've tried several different buffer sizes. Do you get these also with large buffer sizes? It is possible that the unnecessary short blocks and constant changing of block sizes in FL cause the CPU load to increase too much when using very short latencies, hence causing glitches.

My apologies Stian, I believe it's fixed after all

I overlooked that restarting the machine would have an effect. After a restart, I no longer get the buffer glitches. I should have known better, forgive me :)

The update has introduced strange noises when tweaking the inbuilt filters. Happens with EQ turned on or off -

Again, thanks for this, I really appreciate the fix :D

I think I got this with 1.0.1 too but couldn't/can't really reproduce anymore.

Ha!
The old IT adage; 'Did you try turning it off then back on again?'

No problem at all, I'm glad to hear it works. :)

I'll try to reproduce the tweaking noise and see if it is possible to do something about it.
