+1 for Paulstretch. Really high quality program for sound fx and odd ambiances plus it's free. If you've seen the recent Dredd movie the 'slo mo drug's theme was done using paulstretch.

IRCAM is king (Mach 5), but it will give your computer nightmares. :)

I bought this recently: IRCAM Lab's TS
http://www.plugivery.com/products/p1680-TS/

I really like it. It's coming to the PC soon I believe, and apparently it will also be available as a plugin for your DAW.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Paulstretch is available for Win, not just Mac (which I'm very grateful for  )
Music can no longer soothe the worried thoughts of monarchs; it can only tell you when it's time to buy margarine or copulate. -xoxos
Discontinue use if rash or irritation develops.

Ha, that's funny, I thought PaulStrecth was Windows only!

And +1 for Photosounder. Great app and dev too!
