To uninstall an application on a PC go to the Control Panel of your computer > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall an application.

On the Mac you have to drag the application from your applications folder into the trash can bin, and then remove the content manually.

So I'll download all the (full retail version) GA4 files on my Mac, but won't I have duplicates of everything (like the 8GB of samples)? Or will the full retail version of GA4 overwrite everything?

Why does the Steinberg page say that you must uninstall GA4 Trial version before installing the full version? Does that only apply if you're Trial period has run out?

Hello,

As I mentioned before you don't need to uninstall the Groove Agent 4 Trial as it is exactly the same as the full version installer you only need to download and activate the permanent license.
You actually made me doubt, so I just asked the developer again and he confirmed me that the installer is exactly the same.

That is an error on our website, I have just notified the web team we are going to remove that box. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Best regards,
GN

Ok cool. That clears up the confusion, thanks!

I don't think I need to download anything, correct? I wasn't given any license/activation #. So I'm not sure how to activate the permanent license. I'm guessing the online shop I bought it from was supposed to give me an activation code…. I was only given 3 downloads, which are:

Groove Agent DVD 1
Groove Agent DVD 2
Groove Agent 4 Patch List

I'm guessing the trail version included all 3 of these downloads?

Considering upgrade from GA v2. I am on Cubase 7.5 so I already have GA 4se. How does GA v4 compare to e.g. Eazydrummer v2 ?

If you already installed the Trail you don't need to install anything else, but you do need to download the license, please check all your emails from the online shop (In case you have purchased it as a download) If you have purchased the box version you need to wait for the box to arrive.
The most important thing is the license! So, read all you correspondence carefully and search for a 32 digit activation code, or get in contact with ASKNET.

Bought it, installed, liking it.
A tad overengineered compared to EZD2. But that's no surprise for Steinberg plugs. Glad my investment in GA2 paid off after so many years!

Yeah, I think I have it figured out. The company that I bought it from is waiting to get the code to send me. Thanks for the response.

Downloaded the demo a couple of days ago and I am loving GA4!

I do wonder why there is not a kit save icon button, like there is for multis. Seems like an odd omission though a right handed click does bring up the option.

Are there plans to add the complexity feature to beat agent kit patterns, it is a wonderful feature!

Great work guys and gals!!

The GUI is too small for me. The edit window is even smaller than Geist's window, though the virtual pad squares are larger than the pads in Geist. I don't get why developers are so reluctant to make larger GUIs that are readable on HD monitors. It sounds like the full version of Groove Agent 4 has some nice features, but I decided to pass for now.

Yep... Join the club... The Auto Complexity is badly needed in Beat Agent...
And, just started to get deep into Beat Agent... Very, very nice. :tu:

Great program for the price...

I realize this thread is getting a little stale...It's good to get a few opinions to help make the decision to buy or not.
I bought GA 1.0, and was quite disappointed by it (waaaaay back then), so the Groove Agent name has always had a bit of negative connotation in my subconcious. However, someone mentioned GA4 in a thread last night, so I gave it a closer look. I think I should have done so sooner. This looks like a full-blown useful tool, and now I will likely go for it. It was my own pre-concieved notions that were keeping this thing from getting a fair shake ( well, that and the feeling that all Steinberg drum tools were hip hop, beat maker oriented to the point of being of no interest to anyone else). Perhaps things are finally changing, and I won't feel like I'm stuck with the Urban library of ACID 1.0 (was cool in '98 or so). ...now if Battery 4 would just de-urbanize a bit....

Same here mate! Played with it for the trial period and discovered it's great at reworking/slicing existing loops by applying different midi patterns to them. Mind blown by the possibilities!

One very happy customer!
