I'm having some physical issues with my arms and shoulders (soft tissue damage, it will heal) and a bit fried mentally, so I'm taking a break or at least slowing down a lot on instrument making. Thanks so much to everyone who has tried my little instruments, all the folks who made a gave away all these PD and CC samples and the cool folks I've collaborated with. Thanks so much to KVR for walking me through my first attempts at instrument making especially Evil Dragon for all the help.

My two basic goals were to create a Kontakt instrument for every one of the 128 GM sounds, with over 350 Kontakt instruments that is covered, and to create totally free VSTis of orchestral and band instruments for folks just starting, done thanks to Sonatina samples and others in Maize.

Hopefully I've contributed to the community and been a positive type, though I've certainly made mistakes in both instruments and words that I would like to have back, especially picking a fight with a respected member of the community who later passed beyond. Anyway I hope I've made someone's music better somewhere along the way.

Bigcat (Joe),
While I completely understand your situation I do hope this break is not permanent.

IMHO you are an asset to this community and, in my case, an inspiration with your instrument gifts. (Although I didn't have the where with all to follow through and complete my project - don't know enough yet ;) ).

I wish you well and look forward to your return :tu:

SOON! ;)

In the meantime,

Happy Musiking!

After all the work you've put in I think you could use a break... hope you heal and recharge.

Feel better, Joe. You do great work. (Too cheap, though!!! :D )

Best of luck, bigcat. You've done many people a great service. Don't feel pressed to keep it up. Pressure can help, but it can also be detrimental, i.e. f*ck you up. Don't let that happen. I know it's a lot of point and click work, tedious at times, so be careful with your mind and body. Think of it like this: if you burn yourself out, you won't be able to anything at all! So, get well, and take care!

Hi Bigcat,

Take a nice break. Your work and efforts have been great! Take some time, clear your mind and I bet it will be a great opportunity to come up with fresh new ideas as well.

Be well and Cheers!
