Just finished this one. Very scary experience - nearly lost the whole thing to retroactively corrupt backup files. Truely the stuff of nightmares. Enjoy the chiptune/jungle fusion, if that's your thing

Actually, the only way I could save the track was to record it in two halves and join them together in a wave editor, since the project kept crashing. I think it was worth the stress, though.

Catchy and well done. Jam packed with fun ideas.
Kinda wish it wasn't so bitcrushed/distorted because it sounds a little abrasive to me. I guess it's part of the chiptune thing.

You should tag this track "music" so people would be sure.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
DJ Warmonger - done Now people can be 100% sure that it's music.
Yes, the abrasiveness is deliberate, the chiptune stuff is deliberately grindy, but I like to balance the levels in mixing such that the rough and the smooth balance out. My parents think it's a racket, so YMMV No point trying to cater to everyone.
Now I just need to get away from this jungle chiptune thing, I'm almost getting into a formula. I think this is the third or fourth chiptune jam that I've fleshed out gradually into a full track. Time to try something different.

while some of the sound choices are definitely abrasive, the overall feel (imo) is pretty mellow. i'm not normally into chip tune stuff, but your other music sensibilities, the fusion, and your editing skills, elevate this to something really listenableSendy wrote:Yes, the abrasiveness is deliberate, the chiptune stuff is deliberately grindy, but I like to balance the levels in mixing such that the rough and the smooth balance out

Yeah, that's a dog bark processed through Kaivo
It makes more than one appearance throughout the track. (but at different playback speeds )

it really stuck out to me 'cause it sounds like an old 4-track recording i made, in which our dogs made an impromptu contribution. i ended up keeping it, but made a feature by riding the fader rapidly. gave it a similar cut up vibeSendy wrote:Yeah, that's a dog bark processed through Kaivo

will have to dig it out to check if it's as similar as i think
