Kontakt synth based on the 1970's ARP Explorer 1 synthesiser: now with 3GB of samples(compressed to 2GB using NI's lossless compression) taken from a real ARP Explorer1.
Synth Magic Exploration 1 comprises the raw oscillators and a collection of presets made on a real ARP Explorer 1 using the original ARP patch overlays and owners' manual patch sheets, which we then sampled. There are also a number of custom samples take from custom presets, once again made on the real machine and sampled. All 58 unique waveforms from the preset section are all easily accessible from a drop down menu for fast and easy access to the sounds. Preset waves range from trouser flapping bass end, keys, beautiful leads, drones to cosmic space sounds and many more.
comes supplied with over 200 presets all easily tweaked or created from scratch using the custom GUI by saintjohnbaxter.
Many extra features were added such as arpeggiator, effects, mono modes with note priority selection switches, midi syncable lfo's etc.
The beautiful tones from the ARP explorer can now be used in your own productions to give you the classic vintage vibe from what is undoubtedly a classic synth.

There can't be many more of these analogue synths around that haven't been made into VST's but the demos sound fantastic. Love the ARP sound and SynthMagic instruments so I guess I'll just have to add this to the list

I have been sampling more sounds made on the real synth after requests for Philip Glass type sounds(apparently he used an ARP Explorer), so I have been making the sounds and sampling them: I think it is going to be quite a bit larger than 2.5 GB
The preset waveform(samples) selection is via a drop down menu, but i have also added up and down buttons which makes it even quicker to access the raw samples.

While I do already have most of the catalogue, I have to say that month, I only just discovered (and purchased!...) the Tandberg on Sampleism's site and the Oberheim ...and the biggest surprise for me was the Farfisa Polychrome. All simply outstanding

Big fan of ZomZom as well....actually, same as you I have almost everything.

Will be in on the pre-order myself as the demos sound fantastic, which is normal for Steve's Kontakt instruments

Exploration 1 Preset sample section now has 58 sample sets which can be selected via the oscillator menu or by clicking up/down arrows to quickly shift through the available waveforms.

Raw oscillator page has all the raw oscillator waves sampled and can be accessed using the various wave shapes and footage controls.

I have been playing Resident Evil Zero (on an old Game Cube) with all the lights off and I think the sound track of the game has crept into some of the preset making process for 8 Oblique S

There are many varied waveforms from BOC bass, weird modular drones, keys, chord drones, spooky synth sounds, spooky atmos, PWM bass, PWM pads, Bandpass filter sounds and many more.
Comes with about 100 presets at the moment (all sounds in the video except drums are from some of the presets)- I will make some more presets for it before it is sent out. It also has a random preset creation button for added chaos.
(Drum sounds I use for context in many of my audio demos mainly come from Dusty Eclectic Goldmine volumes 1,2 and 3 from SampleScience and Forgotten Keys drum machines for Kontakt).
8 Oblique S gets its name from the computer Peter Zinovieff used to sequence his sound generating equipment and I think he somehow sampled a fly with it at one point.

The woman sat behind the guy wearing glasses, at 02:53 is Daphne Oram, I think.
