I managed to install it and authorize it just fine but when I try to launch the program it won't even start. I even took a look at the processes tab in Task Manager and it shows up there for a few seconds and then disappears. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, restarting my computer, and running the program as an administrator and none of that even worked. When I run it in a DAW as a VST it seems to work okay. But I can't get the Stand alone version to work. Is anyone else having this problem?

FWIW:

When I set my RME Multiface latency to 32 (the lowest level) SampleTank 3 will not launch (standalone or as a plugin in Cubase) . Can't hurt to look at your latency setting.

Can you tell us a bit more about your OS?

A (somewhat) quick fix would be to uninstall it and reinstall it. It could just be that something went wrong when the installer was registering the executable version with Windows.

You could also check the Windows Event Viewer to see why the app is crashing. The EV isn't terribly helpful for app crashes, but you might at least get a specific error code or message.

I have the obverse issue: standalone works fine, but VST doesn't. (I suspect it's because 64-bit plugs don't work in a 32-bit host.)
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

You're right, they don't. And ST3 isn't available in a 32-bit version.

Unless it's FL Studio.

Post

FL Studio does have a 64bit version which can handle 32 and 64bit plugin :tu:

Sample Tank 2 all over again hopefully this time they will fix the problems instead of asking you to make changes to your Os (This should upset the IK stans).

FL isn't an option for a great many reasons.

Anyway, I'm hoping the OP got things working.

I installed the latest free sounds to ST3Free and they are not showing up. I went to do a manual install and noticed that the auto-install appeared to have placed the files in the correct locations. I also noticed under setup that the path to the folder for new sounds is not exactly the same as is shown in the ST3free UI and I could not change it using the browse button.

Do I need to rescan or something?

Yes, this could be helpful if the installer did not do this automatically at the end of the installation.

@the other issues.....

It is likely you will be told to open a ticket with IKM support to resolve your issues, so may as well get that out now.

Be sure to include your system specs when asking for assistance. Since there are so many different systems, telling us what you have often results in getting useful information from someone with similar specs that may have resolved their problem. Otherwise there's a lot of guessing takes place.

Just a suggestion of course. ;)

Happy Musiking!

If your library didn't rescan upon completion of the install and running SampleTank 3, then you can rescan your library manually. If that doesn't help, let support know at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support
