I guess even with a USB device needed, the free version even offers a lot, unless I'm reading wrong:
ReValver 4 Modules included for Free
ValveKing and Custom Lite Amp Modules
RIR 2 Lite Cabinet Modeling Module (3 x cabs, 3 x mics, multiple mic positions)
Lite Green and Tremolo Stomp Boxes
C-verb Lite Effects Module
Audio Stream splitter
ACT Content (1 x Acoustic Bundle, 2 x Electric Pickup Bundles, 4 x Output presets)
Access to the Amp Store for an ever growing selection of new modules, cabinets and ACT Content

Yeah, I can't get that kinda tone. It's just me. Though, I really like the xxx A LOT!

If I played that guitar through that setup, I couldn't get that tone......part of it is the player.
One thing I've noticed in a couple of these "professional" viddys is that everything is so polished and tight, I'd really be interested in the stuff done outside of revalver that makes it that way.

Yup, everything I do sounds incredibly harsh. There isn't anything harsh sounding about that demo at all though. Not my musical style, but sounds great.hibidy wrote:Yeah, I can't get that kinda tone. It's just me. Though, I really like the xxx A LOT!

Getting album-level sounds out of a live amp isn't trivial either. Not that I can speak from tons of personal experience, but my understanding is that it often involves a fair amount of messing about, both while recording and after.

But that's just it. Guys that can do that get good tone out of anything.
Not that I'm not enjoying it........for a shlub like me, it's terrific. In fact, I just kicked out a few other sims on some stuff I'm working on. This is better. It's not a tube amp, but it's better.

That's the video we've been talking about. Arkmabat posted it above a few posts ago. Hibidy and I have been contemplating our inadequacies in not being able to get a polished tone like that.

I'm pretty sure that kid (Kang Yu Lu) could get good tone out of any amp sim.

Also, the production value (video editing) on the Revalver demo is rather nice with a great font, fancy product graphics, and then the whole thing ending with the Revalver logo. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Peavey participated in the making of it with the message of the ad being, "See, even a kid in his bedroom with a laptop can get awesome tone with Peavey Revalver 4". Viral marketing. Then again, maybe the kid just rocks in everything he does.
