OK, I am going to make an extra effort this month. My grandfather and his brothers fought in WWI and it impacted him for the rest of his life.
I'll add details when (not going to be negative and say "if") I submit something.

My apologies for being absent for quite some time. After seeing the new theme, my creativity seems to have been awakened. I have a chorus, a verse and a time signature in mind. Hopefully this ends up being submitted by the deadline.
Just close your eyes. You'll find all you need with your mind.

^ best of luck to you both
not certain that I can inspired to write music of/surrounding war as I'm so very weary from the constancy of it lately. How much more blood needs to be shed before we start respecting each other & respecting each other's point of view ?
Sickened by it all these days . . .

well, I'm not a Warmonger for sure, infact I'm trying to find some inspiration looking at the Great War from an historical side, more than a technical or political one.
You can't change things happened a century ago, and not even a matter of public opinion (too old), no one outlived those events by a hundred years...
You can only try to understand the logics and strategy behind those battles.
I don't mean to go deep on the subject. I will stick with a generic theme that recalls the early days of aviation in war or maybe something sad about the Great Retreat (backup plan).
Cheers

Blood will unfortunately keep on being shed as unfortunately grief and grudge have a much longer shelf life than most good feelings .The only hope lies with education ( hence it is a good thing to remember and understand our past including all the events surrounding the wars with all their horrors ) and institutions which can remain and outlive the people and their experiences : I am actually really saddened to witness the growing rejection of European values and principles within several EEC countries where local right wing parties are taking advantage of the current economical instability to encourage xenophobia & nationalism.

Good stuff. I was going to suggest to Mister Natural that another way to approach the topic might be to look to those who resisted. Not sure yet, but I might be doing something in that vein myself.
Re: video: I think posting the whole link rather than the shortened version and removing the s from https should do it. Like so:

^ interesting
I did have a concept that I won't be able to explore this month(new job requires a lot of time right now). Started playing with it & I just won't get it done here.
Aliens in a flying saucer in the clouds above Flanders in 1917 observing the senseless carnage below. At first they're fascinated, then turn disgusted back to Mars. Would have been titled "We Come in Peace . . . to the Wrong Planet"
