I feel like buying this:
http://www.proaudiosolutions.com/produc ... loaded.htm
But I don't know if I could even register and download the other 4 plugins that I would get vouchers for. It seems to be abandoned now.

It's an amazing sounding synth and when I contacted them many years ago, they were very easy to deal with. The Plugiator's downfall was the extremely limited interface and complete failure of a VST editor.

I am a huge fan of the plugiator. I would contact proaudiosolutions and tell them your concerns.
uncle E, I had it working as a vst plugin at one point, but I don't now because It really wasn't something I need it for.
the regular software interface allows full editing of the synths, that's all I need.

Yes, it worked, it was just badly flawed to the point of not being useful.fx1mark wrote:uncle E, I had it working as a vst plugin at one point
I'll have to try it! Now that you mention it, I guess you could just edit with the normal editor and then have your DAW send program change messages for instant recall. That was the reason I wanted the VST editor to work, instant recall.the regular software interface allows full editing of the synths, that's all I need.

Can you notice any aliasing/digital artifacts in higher octaves in Plugiator emulations (like Minimax or Pro-12). This is something that drives me crazy in Micron/Miniak.

I haven't noticed any. Plugiator sounds significantly better than the Micron/Miniak.

Yep, I played one at my friend's. There's aliasing in the top octaves indeed. Especially when pitch bending, too.szurcio wrote:Can you notice any aliasing/digital artifacts in higher octaves in Plugiator emulations (like Minimax or Pro-12). This is something that drives me crazy in Micron/Miniak.

One last question - before I commit to buy it:
I heard the output volume level is low - is it true?

I seem to remember it being pretty low.

It is unbalanced, so will be at -10bB reference level, so run it into a preamp that will manage unbalanced inputs. With proper gain staging it can be freaking loud with negible noise floor.

Worth reading the response at the end about contacting UseAudio:
