hueynym wrote:I only use ChordMapMidi on my iPad - it's not the most attractive 1/2 rez product out there, but it's far more accessible - the chord variations and velocity are much easier to replicate on a larger square (much like an XY Pad) - my fingers and styli were just too "fat" on the smaller form factor for anything meaningful. It has 3 midi channels, but as it's really a controller, it depends on what it's being sent to - used with ThumbJam, you can get some nice 2 instrument pieces recorded directly.

I've been hoping for some kind of update for the past 2 years, but it's pretty fully functioning for a "live performance" or "noodling" interface. (I'd love to be able to save progressions, or output midi data directly, but there are work arounds for everything)
Any advise on these workarounds or where to find them?

Just a quick follow up question -

Can any of these apps show on screen the chord you are actually playing?

IE If I attach my keyboard via midi and then play a chord are there any that will then show the chord on screen?

Even better if it then lets you print/send the progression just played, but not needed.

Thanks

So no-one has any clue on this? or is the question confusing?

I've just discovered iSongwriter. It's a random editable chord generating app with Verse/Chorus/Bridge in 2 track e-mailable midi or pdf. It's literally my favourite app of the month. Currently on sale $2.99(?)

awful video - no voice over. Just a mouse scooting all over the page and the odd (worse than GM) sound happening...Not a good promo IMO

Anything new on the
Chord generation
and/or
chord progression
and/or
chord suggested-helper
app front?

EnChord version 2 still not out as promised.
But they promised

What is holding me up from investing more time on these apps is the ability to control velocity per note or per chord. I am very disappointed that Enchord does not do a good job of that.

Not new but I don't see it mentioned
