Not an easy job creating a DAW.
Imagine what it takes to fix it or rewrite it (Live).
I wonder how long it took to write Studio One. It was quite ready by v1.0

For sure.Tronam wrote:Naw, creating a DAW is easy. Just ask any average forum user.
For me, back to Reason and appreciate what I have and use.

A) they had a working alpha with all the basic features and announced IN BETA 2 and a half years ago. I'm not giving any sympathyBiscotto wrote:Not an easy job creating a DAW.

I dunno about studio one but they built in on the "crystal" audio engine so not sure it required that much. I honestly don't remember. I'm sure that many of the same things were said and studio one did cost a pretty penny from the start.

So what you are saying is that the consumer should just blindly give up wads of cash for something that doesn't do what they already can do? I think the forums are pretty spot-on in this case. But again you seem to have an elite birdseye view on the subject.Tronam wrote:Naw, creating a DAW is easy. Just ask any average forum user.

No no. No sympathy here. Just a realization of what it takes.
To me the current version it's not worth the asking price unless V2 is included ( Reaper style) giving the lack of feature to price ratio, but not to the next Mayan calendar.
It is true that we were expecting something like Live v11, based on the marketing provided here and there.
Like a good movie: the best scenes are the ones in the Trailers and the rest is just connecting the dots.
Are we so desperate for the end of all DAWs?
Sometime.... It's fun!

@rest of subject: Not desperate, but I was really hopeful that I was wrong. I really wanted it to be a game changer. Probably for selfish reasons like hoping my main squeezes got a fire lit under them. Turns out, they haven't even invented fire yet

Anyway.... I do look forward to Live 10.
But..... Ableton is fireproof.
Live 10.... It will be great. The ball is in their court now. Lets see.....

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying; Consumers should just blindly… wait, what? That's not what I said at all actually. You almost had me there for a moment.hibidy wrote:So what you are saying is that the consumer should just blindly give up wads of cash for something that doesn't do what they already can do?
