Homegrown Sounds releases "Procession" and "Chordian" MIDI Sequencers for Kontakt 5
Homegrown Sounds has announced the release of Chordian and Procession, two Kontakt 5 Instruments which use the MIDI output of Kontakt. They share the same architecture, but each approaches sequencing from a different angle:
- Procession uses 4 mono sequencers to build a polyphonic sequence each with its own Trigger/Velocity Sequencer. It is great for building complex Polyrhythmic patterns.
- Chordian uses a single trigger Sequencer, but allows playing up to 4 notes on each triggered step and as a result is more useful for Chord style Sequences.
Both Instruments use a 24 note Scale Remapper to force the output through a Scale in the key of the note the sequence was triggered by. There are 80 scales available internally but any Scale can be built using the GUI Scale Keyboard.
They both feature local and Global tuned Randomizers which use 3 main styles as well as a set of further configurable options. There is a Default state which can be overwritten, as well as an internal Preset system for loading and saving.
Procession is more advanced than Chordian having the ability to assign a Control Change per Sequencer. There is a dedicated knob for the assigned CC which can be automated, or the Sequencer can be used to target the CC and this knob then provides the Base value.
Due to the Complex Nature of dealing with a long list of CC numbers, Procession also includes 8 internal profiles. The profiles can be edited in a dedicated Editor which allows naming the CCs and deciding which are visible in the Procession menus. This really helps with building hardware profiles and the Blofeld is included as an example.
Chordian is free to anyone with a Homegrown Sounds account, plus Procession is usually $29.99 but at the moment is available as a free bonus in the Augment Group Buy which costs $14.99. So far the Group Buy has reached stage 13 and already includes 5 Instruments as well as Loop collections.
